When I go back to pre-school, I'm going to Clemson

Slides, video games, sexy co-ed hostesses... what more could a 4 year old want?

A straight slide about 20 feet long made of plastic at about a 15 degree angle? Lame! Slow!

Ours would vary the incline, have some humps, be made of stainless

Just wait some clown from Clempson will slide down forward, break an arm or wrist, sue the school, Architect and Contractor.

Paying the players would put a stop to these ridiculous expenditures overnight.

I doubt that. If all colleges paid their players the same "stipend" (which is how it would start out at least), then there would still have to be something that sets the factories above the rest.

So will anti-trust actions against the NFL.

The only reason these adults can't play professional football is because the NFL has a monopoly and dictates strict labor rules that make their development league (college football) free to them.

I totally understand that this facility is ridiculous, but as a Clemson grad I'm not mad because that gives Clemson a competitive advantage and was paid for by donors. The people want a good football team, and this is now the way to get that.

I don't know how good of a case they will have, but that's the only solution I see to fix this. Paying players will destroy the game, IMO, and still not really fix anything. The NFL has no incentive to develop a minor league or something, since they get free development right now, so we're stuck. Someone's got to force their hand.

Clemson should already sue the contractor. Article says it's going to take another month to complete it from its current state. It is a slide. Paint and drywall on the sides is all that it needs.

"So this is how it ends."
Dabo upon reviewing plans for the slide.

There's a very good reason the NFL does that, aside from the benefit to the feeder/draft system. You bone density isn't fully developed until about age 20. A hit from Ray Lewis on a kid out of high school could kill someone.

A league and D league. Or an entirely different professional football organization with teams in smaller markets. It's going to require a deal maker. Someone really great. A leader who makes the best deals.

Ray Lewis [...] kill someone.

The NFL has a history of not caring who Ray Lewis kills as long as it doesn't put negative light on their Super Bowl.

If the NCAA wasn't so corrupt, it would be easy to fix.

Mandatory redshirt freshman year.
Scholies are given out on four-year basis and non-transferable.
Re-institute the death penalty.

Nice implication. Maybe if the Donald hadn't screwed up the USFL there would be a legitimate spring league to act as a development league for the NFL

Well now there's something. The NFL can have year-round football if they form their own D league. It would either increase fan engagement or would water down their product.
