When will we wear the blue jerseys????

I'm not against them for history reasons. I just don't think they look as cool.

And I've seen us wear blue twice since I started watching Tech... a cheated loss to dook in the basketball ACC Tournament and a the ugliest football conference championship game of all time.

Heck,

I just want to see one other than the white one. Have we worn anything else this year?

I'd love to see the all whites against Miami and white/gold/white against FSU.

I have to agree the blue jersey and white pants is very snazzy, historical or not.

2 * 2 * 3 = 12 different ones, technically.

was ready to give you a QFT

...but,

2 * 3 * 3 = 18

...but again, this would include blue pants, which are in the middle right photo --but do they really exist?

which brings us back to 2 * 2 * 3 = 12 ...and a QFT for GTK after all.

Everybody got that?

One of the most storied traditions in Georgia Tech football history is a fan quoting our fight song and the colors it mentions as the reason for not wearing another color.

On the list of "Most Annoying" I'd say it ranks somewhere around Virginia Tech's habit of jingling their keys.

Some of you act like our fight song must be interpreted like the Constitution before we can make any changes to our program.

I only drink clear whiskey and/or rum out of bells. Can't drink anything else until they amend the fight song.

Wrong. The song is not the authority. The school colors were white and gold, obviously, BEFORE the fight song was penned. Why should we add blue?

I'm currently hiding from authorities for murdering a Georgia fan with a battle axe.

This contribution to society nearly makes up for the fact that you are an asshole!

because the football team wore blue before they ever wore white and gold, asshole, for the 3rd time. do you read?

and we have already officially added blue, so get over it, ITS DONE

They also used to be known as the Bulldogs. Let's bring that back too.

I kidnap other people's daughters and dress them in tech colors, then release them on 10th street at night.

And the current colors are White, Gold and blue is a secondary color as I understand it - but if not, it's a color that the program wants to utilitize. In the future, this will be an old-time, traditional uniform, so do we need to wait until then for it to be okay?

And what is it hurting if we do use blue?

You're a dumbass. Seriously. You've taken some issue with me since you started posting, and I'm not one of the members on this forum that goes out hunting for arguments or picking fights, so the burden of fault must rest on you and the only reason I can see for the way you act when I post is that you're a complete idiot.

I never quoted your post directly, so if you're going to waste space simply for dishing out your brainless insults, use Notepad instead.

I don't recall saying it "hurts" anything. I expressed a preference against blue and alluded to the fightsong.

I may or may not be a dumbass, but I can promise you that I haven't taken note of your user name or singled you out or tried to start anything. I couldn't even tell you what other posts you have made. Sorry you have this perception that I came here to start something with you. You must have a pretty big ego if you believe that.

. . . and I'm not one of the members on this forum that goes out hunting for arguments or picking fights, so the burden of fault must rest on you and the only reason I can see for the way you act when I post is that you're a complete idiot.

I understand. You refuse to consider whether you have done anything to cause the negative responses you get. I have met people like this before.

I never quoted your post directly, so if you're going to waste space simply for dishing out your brainless insults, use Notepad instead.

You didn't quote my post, but you referred to it directly, and called it annoying. And that's fine. It's part of a message board when there are outspoken people with impassioned opinions. Call me whatever you want if it makes you feel better. But, you shouldn't call me annoying if you're going to get all upset about being called an asshole in return. Despite your delusion that I have some personal vendetta, you are the one who picked this battle, not me.

But, I probably did go overboard when I used the word "asshole," so I apologize for that.

In fact, I'm so sorry that you believe that I came on the board to single you out and pick some kind of battle that I am going to make you an offer: If you ask me not to post ever again, I will not post ever again. Will that remove your paranoia?

They also used to be known as the Bulldogs. Let's bring that back too.

i havent ever heard of that, but wont dispute it. i dont really believe you, though.

here are FACTS, however. (from http://www.whistle.gatech.edu/archives/02/nov/11/brief.html )

Tech Athletics picks its official colors

The colors of Georgia Tech’s first graduating class have been selected as the official colors for athletics.

The Athletic Association board of trustees, chaired by President Wayne Clough, unanimously approved the color selection — white, old gold and navy blue. (emphasis added)
A board committee chaired by Tech alumnus Don Chapman recommended the choice of colors.

“Georgia Tech has had some confusion about its colors for a long time,” Chapman said. “For example, back when Bill Curry was head football coach, he had a ‘black watch’ group that played in black jerseys. A number of alumni have expressed concern about the colors, and the board and the Alumni Association board asked that the colors be clarified. The Alexander-Tharpe board did the same.

“History reveals that the first adoption of colors by Georgia Tech occurred when the classes of 1891 and 1892 adopted white, gold and blue,” he added. (emphasis added)

All official organizations representing Georgia Tech — athletic teams, band and cheerleaders — will wear uniforms displaying only these colors.

Jesus, it makes me sad that there are actually Tech fans that are this pathetic.

I don't recall saying it "hurts" anything. I expressed a preference against blue and alluded to the fightsong.
I'm asking you what the negative connotation with the blue is. If it's just a matter of preference, then say so. But clearly it's not since your citation of the fight song implies that you believe it tramples on tradition.

Nice try, but I know this is a lie. You've taken issue with me for essentially nothing on one, maybe two other occasions and if you would call someone an asshole for remarks as simple as the ones I made in this thread without remembering such prior confrontations, then you really have no business being on a message board.

I understand. You refuse to consider whether you have done anything to cause the negative responses you get. I have met people like this before.
Responses? I thought you didn't remember the other instance(s) of you getting feisty with me for no reason whatsoever.

You didn't quote my post, but you referred to it directly, and called it annoying. And that's fine. It's part of a message board when there are outspoken people with impassioned opinions.
Oh, is it? I'd hardly call your drivel or the responses it barely merits outspoken or impassioned. Not from any reasonably person's end.

Call me whatever you want if it makes you feel better. But, you shouldn't call me annoying if you're going to get all upset about being called an asshole in return.
It's called returning the favor, and the oldest bull**** in the book is the whole "If you're going to get upset/your feelings hurt" charade - at least be original.

Despite your delusion that I have some personal vendetta, you are the one who picked this battle, not me.
:laugher: If you don't have some bizarre issue with me because of our first encounter, then you're just a serial asshole with generally worthless contributions and a horrible sense of humor.

Keep your apology and your childish antics. How about we try this one instead: You call people assholes when they genuinely deserve it (Example: When someone calls you an asshole for no reason whatsoever in the midst of a failed attempt at a condescending post utilizing each of the internet's oldest, most failed "tactics" for arguing) and not simply when you feel like it. After that, maybe you can try not taking yourself so seriously and use a little hesitation and common sense before you click the "Submit Reply" button.

They were called the Bulldogs in the 19th century pursuant to the theory that Tech and Georgia were both part of the state university system and therefore should share the same mascot. As I sit here, I do not have a source to cite for you. They were also called the Blacksmiths well before being called the Yellow Jackets.

This "argument" or "discussion" or whatever it is has been derailed. I never said that the reason we should not wear blue uniforms was the fight song. I combined an allusion to the fight song with the statement of a preference. I later remarked that the colors White and Gold must have predated the words in the song. Never did I allege that blue was NOT EVER a school color. Now, you have gone to great lengths to PROVE to me that blue was also a Tech color way back when. I cannot figure out why. First of all, I would have taken your word for it. Second of all, i'm not arguing that you are wrong because it has nothing to do with my point anyway. All I did was state a preference. Sorry if it upset you.
