Where this all started...

It's a myth on the books. Season ticket sales went up this year, and will go up next year as well.

Yes season tickets went up this year as UGA people bought them for the one game. I fully expect them to go up if we have a new coach which will get everyone excited about the team again. Now lets get rid of Samford and Troy etc and bring in some real teams as was the original plan.

Wait, what?

So you're saying that increasing the amount of money it takes to buy GT season tickets increased the number of UGA fans who bought season tickets for one game?

That makes zero sense. None.

These are my thoughts from someone that loves GT and has lived at least a 1,000 miles away from GT since graduating and has had to watch/listen and read about GT Football from afar:

1. The powers on high are not committed to GT football, they only tolerate it. Yeah, that's why we're invested so heavily in the stadium and facilities.

2. Outgoing AD should have never been allowed to sign any kind of a contract extention to an existing coach with a severly divided fan base. Agreed.

3. Pursuing said coach in the first place over an existing coach that the players loved (Mac) showed poor vision and the hope that "hey we can get this guy and he want leave in 3 years". I don't care who the players want. You can't let a bunch of 18-22 year olds run your program. Mac was a terrible idea.

4. The coaching intangibles were never looked at in depth: interraction with fans and students and media, QB developement, game plans etc.... Agreed.

5. Even hiring a non Tech related AD who took the job knowing he was stuck with the current coach for 5 years is suspect. This makes absolutely no sense. I can't even comment further.

6. Said AD will leave to go to LSU when that job is vacated. Don't think so.

I love TECH, but I hate being a step child in a foster care program.

I think being 1000 miles away may cloud your judgement on some of this.
