What a pathetic showing of so-called GT fans. It was a mouseketeer home game, ffs. Couldnt even hear us in the stands. It was pathetic.

So you think you punished JUST CG by not attending?
When momentum turned after the half, the game was done. And you have to place SOME blame on the 12th man.

All you armchair QB's can kiss it.

I decided in Oct that I could only attend 1 game between the ACC-C and a bowl. I choose the ACC-C game as soon as we beat Miami. I couldn't afford both.

Stinky bait from a guy with two posts. Hooray for you. Listen numb nuts, no one here thinks they "stuck it to Gailey" or is so bold to think they were making some kind of statement. From an individual's perspective, there were just other things to do and actually going to the game was not really one of them. They were not inticed enough to go.

What DID make a statement is that collectively the fan base did not show up well at all. Why? More than likely the answer lies with the coach who completely tanked the last part of the season and pissed away every opportunity to make this a special season.

Oh and by the way, I also went to the ACC Championship game in the rain, went to every home game but Duke with my two season tickets (17 years consecutively). For me it was not a financial decision, but a timing one. I made up my mind beforehand to go to the ACCCG instead of the bowl game, because I thought honestly we'd be going to the Orange Bowl and more than likely our entire fan base would show up and I hate Miami around Christmas time.

That didn't happen, and I wasn't about to change my plans to return to the Gator Bowl anyway.

Oh and one more thing... take the "I'm a better fan than you" Bull Sh*t, kiss my ass, and shut up. You're no better than anyone else here because you decided to go.

I went to VT last year when we were undefeated and got blown out 51-7. I didn't come on here like a loser and chastize everyone for not making the drive to show support. Its not my place and it shows bad form.

We (SWMBO & I) were there. As we "showed" does that make us not "pathetic" and not "so called GT fans?" Just who the blank are you to judge the commitment of any person who calls him or herself a GT fan? You, and others like you, who purport to judge others by whether or not they show for a game, or stand or sit, or yell or don't yell, or praise or criticize the hc can, in my opinion, and as you say, "kiss it."

Have a nice day.

Rediculous argument. All of us who did not attend the Gator Bowl are now not Tech fans? And why do most here feel the need to "one-up" someone else by talking about how much money they contribute or what games they attended?

Can we not just talk sports and actually get along? It's annoying.

I'm a bad fan.

As I walked out of the ACCCG in the rain, cold, wet and disgusted, I said to myself: "Self, we ain't goin' to no bowl game, no matter where it is. Might as well poke a sharp stick in my eye."

After going to that crap in Athens, then the same crap in Jax, I just did not want to see the same crap again. (I did watch on TV).

This wasn't to punish Gailey, the school, Reggie Ball or anything. I just did not want to go.

gtaeroman, your point that those who did not attend because they didn't like CG, PN or the performance of the team the previous 2 games is counter productive is right on. However, there are those who think they have given more money, post more or longer that have no tolererence for views different from their own. Don't let it keep you from further posting. Let them wallow in their own crappy little world and keep supporting the GT program.

I was there, and the most pathetic thing about the fans was how little noise the West Virginia fans made. Are there a lot of noise ordinances in Morgantown that prevent them from yelling at football games?

I'm not sure the rest of your post deserves a response.

I was at that VT game also.Took a ton of crap from the no tradition turkey jerky fans. But it was nice to pay them all back this year.I was surrounded by Hookie fans since I went with a season ticket holder, and trust me I let them have it. I do not know if I will get an invite next time...

As far as the Gator Bowl goes. I was at the UGA game and the ACCCG and after those two let downs and not knowing I would not have to witness another Reggie Ball meltdown I had no interest.

If I knew that Taylor was starting I would have gone but at that time it was to late for me to make plans.

Next time I'll let you pay for my family of 4 which would include at least 1 night's stay in hotel, tickets and meals.
Went to the ACCCG and spent about $500 that weekend. Santa Clause costs me another $1000-$1,200. Couldn't afford it like others. F*** you pal!

WOW, struck a few nerves. If the shoe fits...

Georgia Tech does not deserve or need weak-kneed, fair weather fans. Sorry so many of you feel badly about my post.

It is everyones right to question all aspects of our team. It is also my right to question/make opinions about our fanbase.

Telling others to STFU is childish and unnecessary.

I did not go as I have a broken foot and dislocated shoulder (long story)

I am planning on being in South Bend next year.

I agree that it was a poor turn out for the GB, but there were many factors that went against a large turnout. I am not going to list those as I have listed them so many times on the Hive that it makes me ill. However, those threads were in reply to WVU fans. Now, to have to try to defend the Tech fans to another Tech fan is just a little more than I care to do.

I didnt go. Didnt have a care in the world about it either. good for you that you made it. Im sure your GT fan brownie points just went up exponentially.

For me, i wont be renewing my season tickets this year. im done supporting a program with CCG in it. Its my personal opinion, though not a popular one on this forum, that Gailey has done nothing positive and will do nothing positive for this program and will only continue his effort to be mediocre.

I readily agree that things could be better, but to declare that Gailey has done NOTHING positive for this program is, what, stupid? Blind? Ill informed? What's the right word I'm looking for....unrealistic? Whatever. It's simply not true.

As for my part I had not been to the GB for years. I wanted to go but in building a new 2000sf house I had to make a decision about spending upwards of $1000 or putting it in the house. As BOR knows building a new house is not cheap so I decided to put the $$ in the house. Next year if a bowl is in the cards I'll be there to support the SA's. So get off the high horse and see reality!
