Where were the fans?

I readily agree that things could be better, but to declare that Gailey has done NOTHING positive for this program is, what, stupid? Blind? Ill informed? What's the right word I'm looking for....unrealistic? Whatever. It's simply not true.

It is true. But let's hope Miami doesn't see this.

Telling others to STFU is childish and unnecessary.

Treat a child like a child. You said "kiss it", and I said STFU. So ST..

You're right, I should have taken my 8 1/2 month pregnant wife down to Jacksonville to sit in the rain and watch the game. I mean, there were still 2 weeks until the due date. There was no way a baby would come early, right?

I'll be at the ACCCG next year. I have family in Jax to stay with, and I already have a football jersey for him to wear.

Warn out records tend to break. How far away are you? Just wondering how much more we have to put up with.

I don't support our football program by buying single game or season tickets. I am an AT donor and a basketball season ticket holder. I stopped attending football games after Wee Man threw the Thursday night Va. Tech game in Atlanta away a few years ago and CCG seemed to think the QB position was solid. Why go frustrate myself watching a stubborn old man coach a smack talking talentless punk who has never won anything in his life ? It's a shame, lots of great kids on our FB team and they get overshadowed and frustrated having to deal with the dream team of Chan and Wee Man.

Maybe Chan will jump for the fish and we'll have something to look forward to from the QB position next year.

Nice spin. Do you work for the same media that edited Jim Mora Jrs comments?? i love how you left out the first couple of words stating that its just my opinion. i really couldnt care less what you think of Gaileys performance because his track record and the Bowl game attendance speaks for itself.

All i have to say is GOOD LUCK to Chan on getting the Miami job. Ill even go to his house, help him pack and even take a load down in my own truck if it will help him get away from GT any faster.

I can not blame GT fans for not embracing the Gator Bowl bid. Losing the championship game in Jacksonville makes a return trip difficult. This is why the ACC hoped the Peach/Chicken would take the loser of that game. I think Tech fans would have bought tickets for the Peach/Chicken in sufficient numbers. I also think a Tech-S Carolina Peach/Chicken would have sold as many tickets as UGA-VPI. But, our beloved Peach/Chicken loves one university system school and invites them whenever possible and disdains the other school and tries not to invite them, in spite of the excellent attendance at the LSU game not long ago.

Overall, looking at ticket sales to Jacksonville the last four times Tech has played there, we have outsold our opponents considerably three out of four times.

Finally, I think either a win against UGA or a loss to a BC, Clemson, or FSU in the championship game and our Gator Bowl attendance would have been fine. But, a third close loss to the Dawgs and losing a great opportunity against a Wake Forest makes it understandable that the fan base was in a dispirited mood.

There were a lot of fans who had really good reasons for not going to the game, like money, time, etc. I don't think those are the ones gtaeroman are talking to.
I'm glad I was there to yell for the D, and watch a great game by the offense. I, too, wish we had more die-hard fans...

The Chick Fil A Bowl had said they would take the winner of the Tech-UGA game, absent a BCS bid for one of those teams. We shot ourselves in the foot by not taking care of business in Athens.

I am of the opinion that had we won in Athens, we would have also taken care of business in Jax and would have been in the Orange rather than back at the Gator. Entirely unproveable of course.

I agree B. I was just making the point that the CFA Bowl hadn't snubbed us for the dawgs just to snub us, but had laid out criteria for selection prior to 11/25 which we failed to meet.

You're right, my kiss it comment WAS childish, but at least this child has something of value to say.

BTW, you want childish? Your avatar is stupid.:laugher:

Something of value? I'm still waiting for that. You're initial post had no value whatsoever.

Your four posts up to this point have contained absolutely nothing that would be deemed 'of value'. You are just another new poster who in his initial posts can do nothing but toss out negative comments, both towards Georgia Tech and other posters.

I could give a rats a## if you like my avatar 'flyboy'. I got the image from one of the moderators of this board, and besides, fellow posters whose opinions I value much more than yours like it.

Hmm, new poster, negative posts about GT, negative posts towards fellow posters, and most glaring, feathers ruffled by the 'To Hell With Georgia' avatar I have up.

Makes me want to ask if you had good seats at the Chick-fil-a Bowl. But I digress. ;)

So what's your problem with the avatar? Being a football fan is childish if you want to get right down to it. But if you don't like an image that insults your chief rival you're either not really a fan or you just don't get it. While I disagree with Gt65 a lot, your posts so far are just stupid.

I am new to this forum. And this thread has served its purpose. It's important to find out which members are post whores, blowhards and non-fans. Congratulations.

Rediculous argument. All of us who did not attend the Gator Bowl are now not Tech fans?

I agree. It's like those who want a new coach are not Tech fans, those who don't know everything there is to know about our recruiting are not Tech fans, etc. Most who come on here are Tech fans, or they wouldn't be here. The few exceptions are not the ones who didn't go to the Gator Bowl.
