Who among us is a "Friend Of Chan"?

This is some pretty funny stuff.

Oh me. Lot of people like those FOCs and such. When some of them catch on with regulars it sure makes things confusing for lurkers who might come by from time to time.

I'm not trying to be critical. Know that it's fun for people who stay on boards a lot.

Feel sorry for those who come on boards to find info, and all they see are acronyms.

My wife just told me she was not a FOCer, and could not understand why anyone would be a FOCer these days.

Man this board has been busy .... I have to say that I am a supporter of Gailey... but was very disappointed with the play of the team on Thur nite...

As has been noted so many times already... the play calling is terrible.. no imagination on the offense... QB is a huge problem... defensive adjustments during the game are nonexistant... and probably the the two areas that upset me most are fundementals and conditioning... we are just not a well coached team right now.... someone said it earlier... We have slid slowly since the Vandy game... and I agree with that... add to that the injuries, and you have a sad season... There doesnt seem to be any leaders on the team right now... and the coaches dont seem to be leading either...

I am not happy... thats for sure... but I do believe that Gailey can do much more than has been shown ... I keep thinking of Bobby Ross and his first two years... the '87 season was a season thrown away... we lost to WF two years in a row.. I just feel we need to give the man a chance..

You sure she's talking Ga Tech football?
Maybe y'all need some marital counseling, Ghost.

CG = OHH

Chan Gailey = Over His Head

The Titanic has broken in half and we are taking in water. Jim Grobe where are you?????????

I think Chan is LLAM (Lost Like A Mofo)

At this point I am not a FOC. I hope he turns it around and I may return to a FOC. However with the number of stupid penalties going on (break a huddle with 12 players or starting QB continuing to ground the dang ball) reeks of bad coaching.

Can he right the ship? Not this year. We have the capability to win every game but in all probability Tech will lose 'em as we "get closer."

nothing against chan as a person, i just am not confident he can lead this team to the amount of victories we expect every season, IMHO.

FOC.

We have to give ANY coach time even though we appear to be headed in the wrong direction.

This fan would be OK with the record, but the lack of improvement is beyond frustrating.

It was the thoroughness of the beating in Maryland that stunk.

I am disappointed in O'Brien the QB coach. I certainly expect a change to be made there at a minimum.

FOC. How quick some folks forget 1987 and 1988, Ross' first two seasons. He literally lost every single game his first two seasons(save the S. Carolina game in '88 which GT won 38-0). We're just experiencing the "first year coach transition blues". Be patient. Good things come to those who wait.

FOC. There are NO reasons why you don't give ANY credible coach ATLEAST 2 years before deciding to find another coach. And I trust in Chan. He's forgotten more about football than any of us will probably ever know, but some of you still think you know best for this football program. Just typical of fans I guess.

Nothing against your post, but Ross's stay at Tech had a terrible beginning and end, with a great but short middle. I would not consider his time here as a good example of what Tech fans should hope for or expect from a head coach. Put aside the split NC year, and Ross's successes were few. His first 2 years were horrible by anyone's standards. And when we did finally win it all in '90, the players acted like spoiled brats. Remember the players revolt concerning lack of holiday time with their families? Remember the pizza brawl and Bell tossing books fom his car as the police chased him down the interstate? Ross got the first train out as soon as he could after all this. 5 years and out. At least we did have the one great year to make up for 2 average and 2 poor years, I guess.

I am not. I advocate coaches like Fisher DeBerry at Air Force - even when they lose you know they showed up, busted their ass, were well prepared and didn't quit.

Groh is an exception rather than rule of NFL guys "coming down" to the collegiate level and having success.

Wake Forest hired right. The man can coach. Pity to think what the score would have been on the books if, as Whack Hyder used to say, Grobe had ours and Gailey had his.

Next time around, hire someone with fire in his belly, believes Tech is the best place for him, and forget about profiles. I don't care if he went to Tech- Curry and Pepper did, had recognition but we should have seen the jump-ship coming - Ross. Ohio State is doing quite well with a former IAA coach, and my gosh, even Boise State and others have teams that are playing with enthusiasm - execute well designed gameplans and don't shoot themselves in the foot.

And before anyone posts back saying many of the coaches like Charlie Strong, Bud Foster or others dont fit the "Tech Image", take a look at our image lately - long hair, beards, 6-8 pathetic looking figures halfway injured per game while the other team taunts us, and on and on. All this has spiraled downward in a matter of months.

Cut our losses quick and now. If Braine won't do it tell him to hit the road too. This is football, and should be much higher priority than basketball, volleyball, or whatever else he wants to brag about.

wasp, I agree on the image aspect. Long hair, braids and beads, dreadlocks, corn rows, beards and earrings don't belong with football. Chan should ban this, and not play any player that breaks the rule. Hester needs a hair cut. He looks like a girl.
