Has to be Tenn and things don't look like they're getting any better.

UT by far!
But we should NOT have lost to NCS!!!!!!!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/behead.gif

My biggest disappointment was us losing to NCSt

Agreed. As far as the list I'd go with Oklahoma because of the drop off from last year. Tennessee getting rid of Sanders will probably help them the rest of the year.

Re: Who are the biggest disappointments in CF this

I'd say a tie between OU and Michigan, with Tenn just behind them.

Re: Who are the biggest disappointments in CF this

I'd say the other way around, UT keeps losing and Mich and OU are starting to win some games and get it in the right direction. Of course UT has an interesting road ahead of them with ND, UK, and Vandy still to play (plus one other I think)

Re: Who are the biggest disappointments in CF this

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't be at all surprised if TN put it all together this week and beat ND. I'm still not convinced by ND...their schedule just doesn't impress me other than SCal.

You don\'t think Michigan is OK?

MSU is good and Purdue n Pitt, while below snuff, are not horrible. Their schedule is not bad by any stretch, and they played a lot of decent teams and beat most of them.

Compare the schedule to the other top teams. One or two quality wins at the most and loads of teams without a prayer.

Which opponents on UGA's to date schedule would beat MSU or Michigan?

Great question. Tenn. has the talent to do so (maybe not without Riggs) if they had one qb, but they don't.

Re: You don\'t think Michigan is OK?

No one has talked about Texas A & M, with Reggie McNeal (some said he was better than Vince Young) at QB who has been in the system 3 years, a good rb in Courtney Lewis and tall wideouts like those of Tenn this team looked like the only other in the Big 12 that would challenge OU and Texas. I though Francione would do a lot better considering their recrutinig classes and what he did shorthanded at Bama but they haven't gotten it done. Maybe they should start scheduling some cupcakes early to avoid those potential team quitting first losses like they had to Utah last year and Clemsum this season.

Re: You don\'t think Michigan is OK?

Purdue. They were a preseason darkhorse to win the Big 10 and now they are 2-6, already eliminated from bowl possibility and winless in the Big 10.

Re: You don\'t think Michigan is OK?

Michigan and Mich State are okay IMO. They're not powerhouses by any means though. Purdue is 2-6, Pitt is 4-4 and lost to Rutgers and Ohio U - they may not be horrible but they're not good. In fact, except for So Cal, Mich and Mich St are their only opponents with winning records.

I'm not saying ND is no good, I just don't think they're all that. They finish with TN, Navy, Syracuse and Stanford. If TN doesn't knock them off, they will finish 9-2 and will look like a great team. I just don't think they are. They hit it just right with their schedule IMO and while they're definitely improved they aren't as good as it seems. Just my opinion.

Of the teams on that list, this is how I would rank them from most dissapointing to least dissapointing:

1. Tennessee--may not even make a bowl after being predicted by many to win the SEC
2. Louisville--everyone knew their schedule was weak which makes it look even worse that they have lost two games; thought by many to go undefeated
3. Oklahoma--dissapointing but they are starting to come on + most people figured they would lose a game or two this year
4. Purdue--2-6 record speaks for itself
5. Pittsburgh--the team people thought might contend with louisville for the big east bcs bid
6. Michigan--6-3 BUT they have wins over Penn St., Michigan St., Iowa, and Northwestern as well as single digit losses to ND, Minnesota, and Wisconsin
7. Arizona State--having an awful season after losing close games to USC and LSU
8. Texas A&M--lost to Clemson and haven't seemed to do good enough to re-enter the rankings
9. Virginia--somewhat of a dissapointment but they did beat FSU
10. Boise State--face it, the only reason this team was ranked was to show some respect for a program that consistently beats bad teams on that crazy blue turf...which they are still doing this year ever since their conference schedule has started

Re: Who are the biggest disappointments in CF this

I totally agree NCjacket. I can't imagine Tenn's woes continuing, and on top of that, I think UT will come out of the gates just looking for opportunities to score. UT is a much better program than they have shown here lately.

Re: Who are the biggest disappointments in CF this

Gotta be Louisville.

Everybody had them breezing through their pansy Big East schedule and landing a spot in the BCS and possibly the national championship game.

Oklahoma is #2. Tennessee has lost some SEC games, but they didn't lose to a non-BCS school!

Re: Who are the biggest disappointments in CF this

Since Tennessee lost Saturday night, I have had a lot of time to think. I agree with several that ND isn't a great team and that they are overrated. I like Tennessee to go into South Bend and beat the Irish. Look at their losses.

1) By a TD in the Swamp.
2) Just didn't play well against GA
3) 6-3 to Bama whom they should have beaten
4) On a late field goal to Spurrier.

Although you can argue that they should never have beaten LSU and could be 2-5, they could be 5-2 as well. Yes they have been a big disappointment this season, I just think they will take care of ND, especially after CHarlie is riding high after that 10 year contract.

No thread hi-jacking here:

The biggest disappointment in CFB is the GT offense!

CJ was pre-season All-America!

PJ was healthy and had a 1400+ yd. season on his resume; the RB corps added Tashard Choice, plus Woods & Grant returned - both players own 100 yd. games against good competition (I think?).

Our incumbent QB was headed into his 3rd season as a starter!

Our HC's offense was supposed to be so good since he had so much NFL experience!

Our O-Line was described by our HC as quick & Athletic!

The GT offense has been the biggest dissapointment in CFB in my opinion!

Way to be a good fan, JackA$$

I hear there are still spots over in Athens if you're interested

We don't have the best offense in the country, but I really don't see what crying like little babies is going to do about it. I wonder how many recruits read this website evereyday and see that the fanbase is extremely negative and says bump gatech I don't want to be criticized by a bunch of couch potatoes when my team is 5-2 and in good shape to improve upon last year's finish.

that\'s gotta hurt.

Agree 100%.

What a loser. We'd be better off without fans like that.
