Who are the players that won\'t be playing for us next year

been gone for a while, who are the players that got suspened and which ones are leaving,i know about hollings

Tony Hargrove
Michael Sampson
Anthony Lawston
Sterling Green
Kingi McNair
LeKeldrick Bridges
Zeb McHargue (quit team)

I thought there was a DT also in the bunch! There are some unnamed ones. Does anybody know who they were and why they were unnamed? Are they part of the ones rumored to be in trouble, but have not actually failed?

Ahso,
There are 10 who are ineligible for Fall semester. The 7 listed here(above) are out of GT, along with Hollings (#8). There are 2 more that are out of Tech, of which I think 1 is Malone.
Ga Tech cannot make any academic results public knowledge. The students or his families must do this or someone not associated with GT.
The 5 public ones made by the AJC were Hollings, Sampson, Lawston, McNair & Hargrove. One other went public & said he quit the team, McHargue.
MasterB speculated, educatedly, on the others in the Insiders.com premium site. This list made it's way to daylight & included Bridges, Green & Malone, who have not made it public knowledge.
It is not easy to assess the 4 non-public casualties, as Summer semester is an optional semester. It does appear Bridges, Green & Malone are 3 of the 4 that are gone. There are others who need a good grade or 2 in Summer semester to stay eligible.
Al Pena left after Spring sem (his 1st sem) of his own accord, not wanting to attend GT any more.

I read that list and my heart breaks all over again.

If Tenuta can keep the opposition down to 20pts or less he is a miracle worker.

Now we have Miami and VT in our future. Someone better right the ship soon.

I'm with u, Law. The killer is Sampson, Bridges & McNair, who were making big strides in Spring. McHargue was improving & could've played in a yr or 2.
Hargrove was starting to be looked at as all-league, a huge loss.
This is too sad to write more.

A great opportunity for the freshmen coming in.

Anyone know of some RS freshmen from last year who might step up?

I heard that another projected starting DT, not Parker, did not make it academically and is at GMC now.

The Sampson,Bridges,Pena,& McHargue losses are particularly disturbing. Several CG recruits from Texas...word gets out among Texas HS coaches. Also hate to lose Macon area players where ugag thrives and we seldom score.

A lot is said, and rightfully so, about the "quit" factor in Athens, but it's apparent now that the quitting was much deeper than that...it obviously carried over into class work. In other words several players quit on The Program, not just the ugag game.

I still say though we can win 6+, IF Bilbo gets the kind of chancesssss AJ did. THWG
