Who else is having a good day at work?

Good day, but not great. I think we all know until we beat UGA, they will be able to fall back on that. But it did feel good to see their delusional fantasies of 1980 get crushed with a hob nail boot.

It's too bad the Dogs have Ky this week

Although I tend to agree that Kentucky is better than Auburn. My point is that they are in prime position to come out flat and a better team than Kentucky might pin a third loss on them. When you have been fed the swill that you will be competing for the national championship for 10 months and you've eaten it up, it is really really hard to come to grips with the idea that you are not even being the best in your conference, much less the country. But I don't think Ky is good enough to beat them even on an off day, and Auburn couldn't beat their second string.

It would take a little research, but has there ever been a year where two schools from the same state --and from the 'major' conferences-- combined have had a worse season?

In 1987-1988, Kansas and Kansas State went 2 full seasons without a single win against I-A teams.

Kansas managed to eke out a 16-15 win over Southern Illinois for their only win against outside competition.

Their combined record for the 2-season period was 2-40-2. Yes, they tied each other in 1987.

They were outscored by a combined 1763-630, or an average loss of 40-14.

Good stuff mm. I remember that now --of course after you bring it up-- but like most topics dealing with time these days, I would not have remembered that being 20 years ago.
