Because Hatcher says Tech has not contacted him doesn't mean he has not been contacted to gauge interest.

Well, it sounds like he is interested to me! He said if we want to talk, he'd be interested to listen. Bring him in for a little sit-down Dem!

Well, this further confirms that we are taking our time and makes me wonder about all of these "top 3" rumors and all, hell, we've only interviewed 1 person that we know of (Edsall) and its Friday! Maybe we're stalling for PJ who won't talk til after Saturday? Maybe D RAd is just keeping his word on performing a thorough and deliberate search!

How does someone get contacted about our job, but not directly by us? Boosters? Agents?
 
I think that we have had many phone interviews and informal meetings with different potential candidates this week. Coaches do not consider these conversations interviews when answering questions from media about whether they have interviewed for the job.

My understanding is that we are just now beginning to have formal interviews and that the people we have invited to formal interviews was determined based the phone interviews and informal meetings held this week. I believe that Edsall is the first of several formal interviews that will happen this weekend and early next week.

With the SEC championship game being in Atlanta this weekend, there will be all kinds of coaches in Atlanta so I expect that there will be a bunch of crazy rumors going around about who has or hasn't interviewed.
 
The search agency that GT is using to help conduct the search...so it's not GT offically calling all the possible prospects....but the agency would provide GT people w/ information based on the feedback the search agency receives from making initial contact with "prospects"...
 
Macon, I agree, and hope you're right. I'm wondering if some of the delay in formal interviews is that we want to have all the background checks done first, and that's why we're waiting until today to start formal interviews.

I've also read that we might have a new coach by Monday/Tuesday, which wouldn't give one a lot of time to interview Hatcher among others, or really bring anyone in for 2nd interviews.
 
FWIW, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune mentioned that Glen Mason was under consideration for the GT job. I don't know if it's true or not, just repeating what the local fish wrapper is reporting.
