who is going to return punts now?

Willie "Big Play" Clay???

Thats right...he fumbled a punt inside the 10 yard line against UNC in 1990 which cost as the consensus national championship. UNC of course tied us that year leaving us 11-0-1 at the end of the season.

also of note...tight end Anthony Rice dropped a perfect pass in the endzone that would have given us the win.

Even if they don't line drive a punt to get around a block, the ball is likely to bounce 10 or so yards. What would be a fair catch at the 15 could become downed at the 1.

Most punt returners are like long-snappers; they're either adequate or poor. We weren't talking about the punt returner after the FSU game. But a yard they gain is as much of a yard as Nesbitt or Dwyer gains.

the ones that people remember are the game breakers like Hester or Rocket Ish, but yeah the others are mostly just considered adequate. the ones that are poor, dont usually last long b/c their mistakes are so visible to everyone...

Roddy has good moves and knows what to do with the ball when he catches it. He just has terrible technique catching the ball high on his shoulder pads.

RM and Hivered are correct. RJ just needs practice. The one bad fumble was from not using his hands more. He tried to catch/cradle it between his arms and chest. Practice will fix his problem.
