Who Stays?

Bay-bay's draft position will depend on his 40 time. I have no idea what he runs. If its not sub 4.5 he's never going to go in the first 2 rounds.

My guess is that Dwyer goes out this year. The RB's going out will not be that stellar, and he is still going to be in the top 3 running backs drafted, IMO. Derrick Morgan will have a hard decision. I think he is likely to get drafted high, mainly because he will show some great speed and agility and strength at the combines, but it will be up to the combine performance to get him into the top 2 rounds. I think he may stay at GT. Morgan Burnett needs to really up his performance if he expects to be drafted higher than the 5th round. He may go anyway, but he does not look 100% ready. But I will predict he goes. Lastly, on Bay Bay. I am amazed that the draft board doesn't have him higher yet, but it is probably because he only runs a 4.6+ forty. It will be interesting how he is looked at by the NFL. They may want him to bulk up to 245 lbs and play as a TE, like Antonio Gates. If so, he might be very special. He can definitely block like a tight end already. I say he stays one more year. Go Jackets!!

I agree Morgan Burnett seems like he's backslid, but recall he has been playing with 1 arm all year.

I'm guessing Morgan (the Derrick Morgan) may leave. I don't see any of them projected way high so unless they've just got ants in their pants they should stick around.

Not really true in last years draft rabtree didn't run at the combine but most people figured he was around 4.6.

A few 1st rounders were burners
Heyward-Bey 4.3
Harvin 4.41

But the others 1st and 2nd rounders are around the 4.55-4.65 range where I expect Bebe to be.
Hakeem Nicks 4.63
Kenny Britt 4.56
Massaqoui 4.66
Robiskie 4.59

Reading this thread got me curious as to what others out there think, so I went looking to see what mock drafts were out there for 2010. They don't mean a whole lot at this point, but here it is anyway.

http://walterfootball.com/draft2010.php

Has Derrick Morgan going #27, Burnett going #29, and Dwyer #42.

None of the 4 going in the first round.

This site apparently is only rating seniors, but in their 2011 draft this is how they have the four: Derrick Morgan #7, Burnett #18, Dwyer #35.

Dwyer #8, Burnett #57.

Dwyer #28

Thomas looks the most "NFL ready" out of the group. His size, blocking and hands will put him high in the draft (assuming he runs a good 40). He is also a standout at what looks like a weak position for the draft (that's obv a key factor in staying or going).

Both Morgan's would be served to stay and beef up their stats.

Dwyer is a wildcard. Has a NFL body and scouts know he can play, even if his "stats" have slipped due to being keyed on every game. Would he risk coming out if he was late 1st round, early 2nd?

I think that the team can weather losing Dwyer and Thomas better due to other good playmakers at their positions.

Our D looks even more shaky to me if one or both Morgan's go.

Gone Definitely: Bay Bay - his stats will never be better than they are now in this offense, so why stay?

Gone Probably: The Diesel - he's already taken a LOT of hits for a kid who would rather be in a two-point stance, 7 yards deep.

Gone Quite Possibly: The Morgans - both will test the waters.

Another consideration not mentioned: Academics at the Institute get pretty tough the 3rd and 4th year there, regardless of major.

exactly what I was thinking

We'll be okay at B-Back, especially if the B-Back is going to be keyed on anyway where he can't break out, although it will hurt some if the new one can get held down with less emphasis. I think #5 is eventually going to be as good as #8.

I think we'd be a lot better off if we didn't have to depend on whoever is next in line for the Morgans spots until the year after next.

However if I was a kid and I had any chance of cashing in I'd go at the first opportunity and get the degree later. Football players don't have a long shelf life. I wouldn't want to give away what is likely one of only 3 or 4 or 5 years I have available to make money.

A friend of mine theorized Thomas would stay because he really likes being here too much. Kind of makes sense. Stayed around through the big coaching change, always seems ready to play and he also pointed out Thomas changed his jersey from saying "D. Thomas" to "B. Thomas", that makes it seem like he's enjoying the college football life.

Is it true? Hell if I know, but good as any right now.

He does seem to. He is also very close with a few guys on the team, mainly his roommates, Burnett, Nesbitt, and Jefferson. That could also play a factor in someone staying or going.
