Is anyone a little suprised that Payton Manning won the league MVP award?
Kurt Warner and Drew Brees both put up better stats and seemably did more with less. Both Warner and Brees were missing their top recievers for long stretches througout the season, and Reggie bush was injuered for the season too. Plus, when you consider that the colts won the superbowl 2 years ago, it's not like Peyton had a lot of work to do to make something out of nothing. I think Werner and Brees got shafted. I guess you can say Brees did not make the playoffs, but Warner did, and look who won their first game...
Payton's Stats:
Yds - 4002
TD's - 27
Yds/gm - 250
QB Rating - 95
Warner's Stats:
Yds - 4583
TD's - 30
Yds/GM - 286
QB Rating - 97
Brees' Stats:
Yds - 5069
TD - 34
Yds/GM - 316
QB Rating - 96
To me it's just another example of the media's emphatuation with the Mannings.
