who will be commit number 9?

Personally, I'd like another big DT. That would mean Whitaker, Green would be my choices. Going by the Scout database, DeAndre Smelter (OLB) and Anthony Williams (DE) might be the next. Of course, I'd love RB's Mack Brown or Corey Grant, too. I'm not selfish or anything.

If we by some miracle get Mack Brown then I will put down money that we get in or damn close to the National Title game in the next 4 years.

Mack Brown is overrated. His stride is far too long for a short quick back and it effects his balance. He may have the speed, but he doesn't have the moves, and he won't be a serious college back for anyone. You can quote me.

I would take Perkins over any back in the state.

I like the new avatar BOR.

Go ahead and forget about Smelter (baseball), Mack Brown (Florida, Georgia, Alabama), and Corey Grant (Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, Auburn).

We want Green more than Whitaker. We will not take Whitaker or any other DT's if Green commits.

Concur, don't think we would want more than two DT's.

We may not, given the small size of this class. However, we are short of DT's now having lost 3 of our top 4 last year. To my memory, we have the following scholie DT's:

Anderson (R-JR), Walls (R-SO), Peters (R-SO), Barnes (R-FR), Lanier (FR), Jason Hill (R-SR).

(Not sure if Bedford is scholie or not, or if he's still at DT or not. Seems I heard he was moved to OL.)

That's only 6 this year, with one graduating, leaving 5 plus McCoy next year. Next year we graduate Anderson, again leaving 5 unless we pick up another this year. So I'd say we need one more DT in this class.

Keep an eye out for Mike Thornton too. Doubt he gets a legit offer, but he is a beast also and has interest in GT.

Green is the real deal.

GA top DT's

1. Garrison Smith
2. Shawn Green
3. Denzel McCoy
4. Mike Thornton
5. Kyle Weostoman
6. probably forgetting a couple..

We could have stocked up again this year at DT and DE...even OL...with all of the interest we had. The numbers just do not allow it.

Keep in mind that the DE's we recruited last year will grow. I would not be surprised to see Cross or Crenshaw at DT one day.

What is the over/under on the time Cross plays DE? 1 say 1 week.

Obviously the staff thinks they can put some weight on the kid. Hopefully it won't take 3 years in the system to make him a serviceable DT. He may stay at DE if we take another DT in this class.
