Derrick morgan has one spot. So who will be the other starter? I figure robert hall. Has a lot of competition though from egwunibe, peters, Wilson. Then we have all the freshman coming in. Dieke, cummings, crenshaw, cross. I figure they will all red shirt.

The caoches have been pretty clear I think.....Robert Hall as always the first one off the bench at DE....played meaningful minutes....and post season they said they were excited about seeing him next year because he has a mean streak and a motor that never quits.

Bad Bob Hall. Country strong and mean as a copperhead.

Go Jackets!

Mean? Not this nice looking young man! :laugher:

Hall, but Wilson is coming on I think.

And Egbuniwe was coming off an injury last year. The guy was all conference as a freshman at Tulsa I think; he's got to have some talent. I just think he starts to show up this year.

Egbuniwe didn't make the all conference team, he made the freshman team for whatever conference Tulsa is in. He wasn't even a starter for Tulsa, so I think he only made that because there really weren't any other options. At least that's how I remember it. RW.com says that he redshirted his freshman year at Tulsa, so maybe I'm remembering wrong, too.

As for DE opposite Morgan, I agree that Hall will be the starter. Peters (possibly DE or DT), Wilson, and Egbuniwe will push for playing time. All the freshman will redshirt unless any of them come in and are much better than anticipated.

Egbuniwe's H. S. coach (J.L. Mann in Greenville, SC) is named Mickey Cracker. Can this be true?

Peters will start at DT. He got a lot of playing time there last year. I never remember him playing at DE.

I must say I don't remember Peters ever playing at DT last year. He was in the 2nd DL rotation at DE, along with Hall, and Ben Anderson (DT) and Elris (DT).

I think Peters has the body type to bulk up and play DT. I'd love to have his DE athleticism busting thru the line on pass rush. Then add Morgan and Hall coming off the edge and Barnes pushing people out of the way for Peters. Sounds like a recipe for success to me.

I think Robert Hall will definitely start at DE and Barnes will definitely start at DT. I think Morgan will be moved around all over the D-line (DE and DT) to confuse the opponent's O-Line. I think that Peters or a converted LB will fill in at DE when Morgan is inside and that Anderson and Walls will fill in at DT when Morgan is outside.

I may have been mistaken. He got a lot of time last year either way. He certainly has the build.
