I was doin some searches thorugh message boards when on volnation i found a thread about Daniel Hood. I then realized that they were talking about something that happened in his past and i was shocked at this. I cannont post links on my phone but enter in google daniel hood knoxville tn court. This is a guy we are recruiting as a OL.
 
I certainly have no idea of the truth of the matter, but that's some scary stuff. I didn't continue reading to see if Hood was found guilty, but if he was/is, I hope we don't recruit him.
 
According to other places, we are no longer involved.

This probably explains why. Seems odd it is now just coming out. Saw on google that apparently Ole Miss board is shocked also.
 
Yeah..I just don't think that's something I could get on board with, even if it is an isolated incident.
 
Thats pretty bad.

How are these records even public? Wasn't he a juvenile at the time?

I'm not great with the legal mumbo jumbo but it seems like he was being tried as an adult, thus making it public record.

1) Good.
2) The leader was a friend who was older, but not his cousin. According to his dad on the volnation forum referred to in the OP, the older kid was in a gang...but he also goes on to say that the DA was jealous and used his son to get back at him, etc., etc., and if you read what the court records say about the father, it's not very glowing. While it was five years ago, IMO 13 years old is old enough to have some sort of moral compass to guide you. We're not exactly talking about trying an illegal substance or getting into a fight here...

I am not excusing what he did...but he will get a chance somewhere.....it is not like he can sit around his entire life and do nothing ever again if he has been rehab'd and paid his price to society.

I do not believe he should get a scholarship anywhere though...not yet anyway.

He will get a chance somewhere, and I'm not saying he can't be a productive member of society based on something he did in his early teens, but I would prefer not to have someone who has been involved in such a situation as a Yellow Jacket, particularly when they reportedly have deflected blame for the incident to others. That's just my take on it though, based on the limited knowledge I have at my disposal.

I'm not wishing failure on the kid. He will get a chance somewhere. Hell, Shelden Williams was kicked off of his high school basketball team for a rape accusation and Rat Face still took him in, and Vick will more than likely get another shot with an NFL team after serving his sentence, but I still wouldn't want him on my team.
 
being found "delinquent" means he was tried as a juvenile

His name was part of the appellate record (it appears states do it differently, In NC it would have been initials)

Unless he's been violated with a plunger, I'd tend to disagree.
 
Wow, that's major time eff'd up. Not that it would EVER be ok, but of all people, your cousin? Really? Sick.
