I seem to remember a lot of people saying how much they loathed him performing. It's like a mute point now. Any way if there is any guys still objecting you can always give your ticket to me. :fingersx: I am ticketless for the time being. BUT, I will be there... You'll see me somewhere rum and coke in hand dancing at half time with some college girls and then enjoying the night as we will slowly but surely win.

It is obvious that this performance is geared towards the younger crowd. Personally though, I don't know a single person that would buy a ticket to a game just to see the halftime show, regardless of who it is.

Now, I am not complaining because I look forward to the show. Just not sure it is the right idea though. I do give them credit for trying as that has been a major criticism of GT fans for a while now...

Although, this could be a very good thing if they show some of it on tv. Anyone know if there are plans for that? For many high school recruits, I bet they would get a kick out of it and it could spark interest in our program...

It's sooo much better than Auburn's half-time show with the American Idol loser. And Thursday night games have always helped Tech recruiting, particularly with players who see downtown Atlanta as a draw. And among players who see downtown Atlanta as a draw, Outkast is likely to be very high in their CD collection. It really is a perfect fit, from a football standpoint, and I'm glad DRad sees it.

I think it is a great idea for all of the reasons already expressed and also because I see it as positioning GT as part of Atlanta, which we've done a poor job of in the past.

I have a real fear that he will be boo'd though, which would be a more than undo all of the positives. I hope we show more class....

I cannot stand hip-hop...but I also realize I will never agree with any one person or anything they do 100% of the time. Someone else there will love it.

As far as someone buying a ticket for a halftime show....I could see it easily happening by people I know if it was any of the following...

- Rolling Stones
- U-2
- Phil Collins/Genesis
- Paul McCartney
- Billy Joel
- Elton John
- The Eagles

There are many people that would pay $50 to see them see 3 songs live.

You also don't want to pay their appearance fees, no matter what ticket prices end up being.

It's also nice that he's actually a fan of the program (whereas, odds are overwhelmingly in favor of none of the above bands being in that boat) and that students/athletes can associate with it.

Just my $.02, though.

Uh uh uh uh uh YEAAAAAHHHH!!!! now throw yo hands in the aya and wave em like ya just dont caya!!

Contrary to popular belief, Chan Gailey is not a member of Outkast, but he is treated as such.

The only big boys i want to see are on the line of scrimmage, i take the halftime to get a hot dog and take a leak anyway

A coke --perhaps a hot dog --and a rail overlooking Techwood is where I'll be.

I hope everyone stays after the usual bathroom, food break. I'm sure the halftime show will be on tv. Let's show the recruits a good enviroment...besides I have seen Outkast before and I think you guys will be surprised...I promise it won't be something that will shock you. Stay enjoy the band and festivities and get pumped! Our guys will need a loud home crowd.

I would rather see the American Idol loser than Big Boi. :o

Big Boi won't be received with boos. I can guarantee you that. the student section is usually the ones who can get a good booing going on and they ain't about to do that to Outkast.
