Why all the love for Mills?

I would have like to have seen Marshall more. 18 carries for Mills, just 9 for Marshall.

He still is a freshman, made a few freshman mistakes. A few times he tried to make more of a play than he should have and was a little trepidatious picking his holes, but in all a great first game for the kid.

We'll need both going forward.

Because he ran hard, showed a lot of potential, and overcame a costly fumble with a game-winning td, which he ran through someone for by the way.

öööö off to everyone who is ripping on him and is saying that they wished they had seen more of Marshall. Yeah Marshall may have had a better overall game, but dedrick ran hard for a 18 year old and just won the game for us. öööö

Because he's a true freshman who's physically beyond his years and has the potential to be really good

cause marshall needed a wakeup call and CPJ isn't above sending messages loud and clear to players at the expense of playing a freshman in a critical position if he can get away with it.

Mills is a true freshman - don't forget that. He had a fumble earlier in the game yet came back later in the game to score a game-winning TD with :30 left. How is that for resiliency from a true freshman?!

We have very good depth at B-back with Marshall, and Allen; but Mills looks like he has the highest ceiling. That said, Marshall needs to see the ball more because he has too much talent to sit on the sideline. It is similar to when we had Dwyer and AA.

Simple answer is they both look pretty good and they will both play. Marshall looked better when he came in, but Mills looked really tough on that touchdown.

Marshall seems to stay in CPJ's doghouse; fumbling, blocking and focus issues. I thought he was terrific on the series in the 3rd. I assume they gave him a rest and then Mills fumbled. But, after a fumble Mills was sent right back in. Mills did some good things for a true freshman.

I think this will be like when we had Laskey and Days. Each will have games where they clearly play better than the other.
