Why are we assuming LSU for CFA Bowl?

If you go to the videos at the bottom right of the Chick-fil-A Bowl website (http://www.chick-fil-abowl.com/) and click on the link for LSU, it has a video with Gary Stokan talking about LSU. Referring to the LSU-Arkansas game, he says "... it's a must win game for them if they want to be in the Chick-fil-A bowl." They didn't win so was Gary Stokan lying or am I missing something here?

Some of us are speaking out of desire, I believe, but it's probably assumed because LSU may travel better than USC-E.

Oh, I thought someone had inside information or something. Because, if you listen to all of those videos, it seems like Ole Miss is the most likely team to play against us.

Ole Miss is 8-4 with wins over Florida and LSU!! Not to mention, they have ended the season with 5 consecutive wins ... not 2 consecutive losses like LSU.

Can't remember the guy's name...but the president of the ASC and the ChikFilA bowl said it would most likely be LSU today on 790.


Does anyone think picking us for this bowl is a "makeup" call for scheduling that damn SEC/ACC season opener thing in our backyard?

Ol Miss would be interesting, a better class of people to tailgate with. Ol Miss coeds and their Moms in Sun dresses with chafing dishes at the Dome on 31 December could be nice. Better than a bunch of drunk LSU drunk asses, eating meat pies, pigs ears and boiled peanuts.

No. I think it's so they don't piss us off because they're going to WANT us in that SEC/ACC season opener when we're ranked preseason top 5 two years from now. Isn't it going to be a yearly thing?
