Why I'm going to stop rooting for the ACC.

I meant end 7-1 in ACC play. I hadn't considered the Bama loss though, would that factor into the tiebreakers outside of BCS standing?

If we all end up 7-1 in ACC play then BCS standing is the tiebreaker, and VT's 2nd loss will put them behind us.

If we win out, VT doesn't win out, and ends the season at two losses to our one. We would be the better at-large candidate than them.

Exactly. We will be in a BCS game if we win out. And if we aren't we will still get tons of exposure for being a 1 loss team from a BCS conference not making a BCS game.

Very no, Texas Tech from last year jumped straight to mind.

However, a 10-2 season for us, ACC championship game or not, is a success. We are playing a tough schedule against quite a few teams with a more overall talent. A record like that would be great.

That's why I said probably. I hadn't checked the stats and couldn't recall off the top of my head. Thanks for the correction.

As for OU not losing another game, you think they're going to beat Texas? Texas will jump all over them, because Mack Brown knows that his team got the short-end of the stick last season, and he's going to wax OU to prove a point. On top of that, I think OU will lose another conference game. They're offensive line isn't good enough and Bradford won't be 100%. I don't see OU being that good of a team, certainly not a BCS team.

I do see them beating Texas. Mack Brown struggles a lot against Bob Stoops' teams, and he has for a long time. Stoops is 6-4 against Brown in the series.

Texas has won 3 out of the last 4 and won last year, and I think that pisses Stoops off.

Texas is wayyyy overrated. Just another example of your name getting you somewhere. They haven't played anyone. The only team worth a damn that they have played is Texas Tech and they aren't even that great this year without Crabtree and friends.

I've always considered it common sense to root against our division. It's not like we ever get the job done without needing all the help we can get.

We've won the division outright once. The one time we tied (last year) we lost on a tie breaker.

But it always helps to root against the other coastal division teams in conference games.
