"Outside the players lounge and locker room, the main hallway displays such great players as Keith Brooking, Dez White, Tashard Choice, Chris Brown, Philip Wheeler, Chris Reis, Reggie Ball, PJ Daniels, Daryl Smith, and Calvin Johnson."

Reggie, but no Joe? Maybe he is and he didn't list him.

BLASPHEMY!

I suddenly have an urge for a really nice pepperoni and sausage pizza.

DEAL!

Joe should/probably is on there.

Now for the real thing: Why the Reggie bashing? He had more heart than 99% of the stands. I don't blame him for our team. I blame Patrick Nix. I blame the person whose idea it was to keep a 5'8" QB in the pocket behind a 6'5" offensive line. If Ball had played under PJ, he'd of been a good QB or a great A-back.

Because today's kids....

are no closer to JH than they are to Billy Lothridge, Wade Mitchell, Frank Broyles or Jim Still (look him up!).

Five years from now when they re-decorate, Reggie'll disappear and and Josh Nesbitt or Jaybo Shaw or Jordan Luallen will go up.

Wow. Those are actually some good points!

As loathe as I am to come to Kyle's defense, no one in the stands threw more interceptions than touchdowns, nobody in the stands gave UGA (2006 game) as many points as yards that they produced. I'll concede that he was tough, and that he won more games than he lost. But 5 of those games that he lost meant a hell of a lot, to a hell of a lot of Tech fans. He was and always will be a polarizing figure.

Its only a game dawg.
In reference to losing to UGA and having negative yardage passing and rushing as well as 3 turnovers which cost us the game. Sorry, I won't ever get over that. His comments were insulting.

My guess as to why Reggie is on the wall is that he became (technically) a professional football player, and that seems to be a common thread among those others listed.

I agree with those who defend Reggie. I also was glad to see someone remark that Patrick Nix deserves some blame. The guy couldn't put together one touchdown against Wake Forest to win the ACC title and go to the Orange Bowl. Not ONE lousy touchdown, and this is with arguably the best college WR in history, an NFL worthy RB, and a Senior QB. Then he goes to Miami and says bad things about Tech.

I'm not asking people to love Reggie Ball or ignore his flaws. But, next time you find yourself dwelling on the shortcomings of Reggie, take a few seconds to remember how much Patrick Nix sucks.

All Reggie did was try as hard as he could on every play and sacrifice his body many, many times to win for Georgia Tech. He wasn't blessed with tremendous offensive masterminds to guide and develop him. He also wasn't the smartest or the biggest or the most consistent quarterback, or even close. Few of us are the best at what we do. But he was a fighter and I'd have him on my team any time. I'm a Reggie Ball fan and I'm not scared to say it.

because Kyle is an asshole that knows nothing about GT history and will insult people people w/o scruples

It's not Reggie's fault that he was our best option at quarterback for four years. And, he manages to win one of those UGA games, and we all look at him different. Patrick Nix's plays were not his fault. And he could throw a mean punch...

Never liked RB as a player --I just could not stand his running at the mouth after basically every play he was involved in.

Just to throw it all out there, I've never disliked a GT athlete more than RB.

I really don't want ya'll to think I am someone who comes in and just defends people so here it is: Patrick Nix is to Georgia Tech football what Rosie O'Donnell is to the Republican Party/Weight watchers/my sexuality.

Patrick Nix Sucks and I am glad Miami 'stole' him.

Why is that bottom pic of Calvin inverted (its from the Auburn game after his first TD)?

When Georgia Tech played Vanderbilt think it was Reggie's first year. What were your thoughts on him then? Plus if Reggie doesn't have some type of leg injury issue his senior year I believe his accuracy would have been better. Never looked as though he could plant and throw late in the year.

I still remember that Vandy game like it was yesterday. Hollings made everyone else on the field look like they were walking in wet concrete. And Reggie's game saving bootleg run... Wow. Even today.

I was very impressed.

Patrick Nix never made Reggie say those things after the U[sic]GA game or made him act like he did on the sidelines at the end of that game. That(and the general attitude it represents) is what draws him the ire of so many Tech fans, and that will never be forgiven. And he deserves it, too. I guess he, like Chan, never understood what that game means to Tech fans.

I believe Reggie is on the wall because he is the winningest QB of the Chan Gailey era.

I was sitting in the lounge/lobby area of a Courtyard up in West Chester (or maybe Exton) PA and had called in to 790 on my cellphone and had them put me on hold so I could listen to the end of the game.

My heart sunk into the floor when wes yelled "BALL'S LOOSE!!"

LOL!! :>)
