will FSU be a high scoring game?

I don't like how or D matches up with FSU (or anybody for that matter). FSU has a good o line from what I've seen and Ponder is good when given time. I wonder how much discipline FSU will have and what scheme they will run. I doubt they use the same one as last year. If we win I think it will be a high scoring game. I'm hoping the D steps up and proves me wrong.

I'll give you my score prediction later, but I think we win handily.

We lead the nation in yards per pass attempt. FSU leads the nation in giving up yards per pass attempt.

Something to think about.

To answer the question: Yes.

If it stays in the 20's I think we lose. HAVE TO, HAVE TO, HAVE TO go out early and establish the run and grind the clock. Cannot fall down 14-3, 17-3 like we did against Miami. If we do........ballgame and I think FSU wins in a rout.

Because Bowden's job is on the line in this game. Timing sucks. Wish we'd have caught them before going to 0-2.

FSU is going to get destroyed. Amato and Jimbo tried to fight each other after the game. There is absolutely no way that this team holds together. It is a train wreck and I think it'll be a 45-20 kind of a game, much like GT vs Miami last year.

Maybe Amato and Tenuta can have a Texas Tag Team Death Match against Jimbo and Nix.

I'd pay good money to see that.

But as far as the game being a high- or low-scoring affair, when your D is good, you hope for low scoring games. When your D is not performing well, you just hope you win. That's pretty much where I'm at these days.

I don't know what makes some of you guys so confident. Playing a team at their place (where we have NEVER won) with their backs against the wall and with the talent they have does not sound encouraging to me, especially one that has a pretty strong offense.

But I hope that you are right. Sheesh!

Neither do I. If F$U is truly disintegrating then possibly. If they play with a "back to the wall" mentality, we could easily get our asses handed to us.

Sorry, but our defense is pretty rotten. People predicting that we'll win big in Tallahassee must be predicting that we'll get 5 turnovers again. I'm wondering how we can win any game left on the schedule without getting loads of turnovers.

From a contrarian betting status I would bang the hell out of FSU @ -3 and out of the under on this game.

I am currently terrified.

At this point, we've only scored 15 more points than F$U (150 to 135) and they have only given up 5 more points than we have (120 vs 115).

This game looks dead even.

Very interesting statistic.

Honestly, can't have a clue until the first quarter plays out.
Things that can't be entirely predicted:
-FSU's mental state
-Our defensive play (we can be good, not great but good)

I gotta think that if we can lay a couple of fast early scores on them, they may implode completely.

My general opinion is this....our Defense is terrible. However our offense is running pretty well oiled right now. We've won the TOP the last two games and dominated it against UNC. I think the game against FSU will resemble the one against UNC more than the MSU game for one reason....

FSU is a pass oriented team whereas MSU was a run oriented team. It's easier to make mistakes in a pass oriented team (dropped balls, overthrown/underthrown balls). I can see our defense getting more 'stops' similar to against UNC where we may not have done what we needed to do to get the stop, but FSU misses a play. We will then do our thing on offense and continue to run the clock out and hopefully get scores on 80% of our drives. :)

If that happens we win by 1~2 TDs. If FSU is crisp all night, and we can't get pressure, it will be a down to the wire high scoring affair.

I'm pretty worried about this one... it's going to be a shootout.

Our defense made a change after the Clemson and Miami games, and I had a lot of hope after UNC when we held them to 7 points... Now that I realize that it was mainly because UNC is terrible thanks to UVA and Mississippi State, I'm once again doubting the results of this game.

I think FSU is gonna win one for Bobby and for the fans. They need this win not to stay in the ACC race or get a bowl game, but to gain respect and to keep the best coach they've had since they were an all-girls school... essentially their Bobby Dodd... If we can go in there, get some quick scores, and do it again after the half, we'll be fine...

Its just that this game reeks of a "trap" scenario...

Yes, it will be high scoring. But I don't think it will be close. I expect our big play runs to return against FSU.

Hopefully, they will show the "only two guys between the hashes" defensive alignment again.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was 7-3 or if it was 50-49. Regardless, I expect it to be close (less than 7 points)
