we easily beat UVA and today’s game would have been a barn burner. That extra dimension of a athletic QB with speed like a Joe Hamilton and Shawn Jones makes the spread offense lethal. Miami looked pitiful against UVA and VT is beatable. I don’t know when Sims will be able to use his wheels but if we have a Pitt like or Duke like performance we beat Miami and VT. UNC and the ACC officials will be tough to beat on the road. We may look back at that UVA game and wished the coaching staff had gone with Payron for 6 wins.

Yeah, I’ve never been confident about any game when Sims starts because he’s so inconsistent.

There's still been an obvious drop off without him. Some of that is just poor, overly cautious play calling with the backup QBs, but Sims also just has the ability to make things happen--even if sometimes those aren't very good things.

We gave up almost 700 yards and didn’t force a punt. Sims wasn’t going to help us win today
Meh, he definitely could've helped cut down on fsu possessions which would've helped the D some.

The coaches could've helped by opening up the offense in the 1st half.

Dumbest öööö I've read all week. Mentioning Sims, Shawn Jones and Joe Ham in the same thought should get a permaban. Mods, Monday will be fine.

He couldn’t helped, but we literally didn’t stop them the whole game. The turnover on downs they dropped 2 passes; the goal line fumble we didn’t even force.

I remember when everyone was hyped on Tevin after an admirable showing in relief of Nesbitt at VT. Hopefully we keep easing Pyron into games.
I mean he did have one of the best offensive careers as a GT QB so maybe the hype was warranted.

I thought he was underrated. Didn't we score on our first offensive play in the first 3 games of one season with him at QB?
He was under appreciated for sure. Probably comes from following Nesbitt who is deservedly beloved, and not doing anything exceptionally well. Just everything pretty good. Offense was very strong under Tevin’s command.

He was boringly efficient in running the offense, yet unspectacular in his individual skills. Not that fast or quick, didn’t run with power, arm strength poor. But you’d look up and we’d score points.

He also had a knack for not making the big play when we needed it. Nesbitt and JT were the opposite in that regard.

We would have spanked UVA with Sims. Don’t know if he would’ve been enough against FSU. VPI game also goes from a likely W to leaning their way.

He’s not a great QB. But his legs add a lot to our offense.
