Sims is the best QB we have, but he can't win a game standing on the sideline. He has missed multiple games every year.

An athletic QB who can scramble and make something out of nothing is the best way to compensate or cover for an inept offensive line, which we have. So given our current overall offense, yes Sims is probably our best shot to win a game. The O-Line is what it is, you can only scheme so much, especially 2/3 into the season.
That being said, as the stats already posted in this thread show, he’s getting worse each year by every metric. Is that coaching, or just him not developing, or both? Who knows. He isn’t our future though, IMO. Problem is, who knows what our future is? IHCK I’m sure knows at this point he won’t be seriously considered for the job, so he’s coaching to bolster his resume for the next possible role. Perhaps he’s genuinely and altruistically thinking of Tech’s long term success, but I doubt it.
