of two and three stars with a few fours added in, you can’t compete, IMO, on the D1 level. Our lack of talent has shown the past two or three years. I just don’t think you can coach up talent to compete with teams that have better overall talent. I don’t know that Pitt had better talent, but they looked to have better athletes on the field today.

I still say we beat one of the big boys, Clemson, Miami, VT, or ugag.........just don’t see us getting to six wins though and a bowl game.

Should be interesting to see if changes are made anywhere from top to bottom.

I think we have a lot of talent just most of it is young and inexperienced

Maybe you’re right buzz. But we have been talking youth a while on this board maybe except 2014. Plus a lot of other schools seem to be playing more and more younger kids nowadays.

Mover, you're not alone. If you're on this board and you have any sense like I do a couple of things are obvious. And for &5.99 a month I'll be glad to share them with you. You see? That's what this program has become. It's not about winning it's about the commercialization of college athletics. Nick Saban's workaround is he's at Bama and he can hold a gun to people's heads that aren't already holding guns to people's heads. Tech has to take what it can get and Paul Johnson or whoever can only do so much. Recruiting is everything. But Johnson has recruited what he thinks is best. That's what we have as a result. A really well coached, little bit better than average, high school football team.

We're not recruiting worse than Pitt or USF. This is on shit personnel decisions and lack of leadership and not preparing them to be ready to play. Thats why I dont get the "But the Hill!!" argument either. Is the Institute making us recruit worse than ööööing Pitt?? Get a sense of reality.

We just don't seem to be on the same level as the teams on our schedule.

Something wrong.

True. What is our average class rank for the last 5 years vs BC? It can’t be that different.

I looked it up for USF last week. They were not ranked higher than us any year.

Gnats....I dont totally disagree or agree.....I dont believe CPJ has to take what he can get. As has been discussed many times over here, our option offense reduces drastically the type of athletes we recruit and what recruits like what we are offering. In this day of the west coast or up tempo offenses, the option offense is not one a lot of kids like to play in. Therefore, in my opinion, we have a hard time recruiting the elite four or five star athletes. I do believe some kids can be coached up as long as they are surrounded by top tier athletes, but our program is built on 3 or lower star recruits and it is my opinion that you just can't compete in todays game with that group of athletes.
