With a roster

I looked it up for USF last week. They were not ranked higher than us any year.

I appreciate you looking it up Akin because I didn't. Did you notice by chance how many of their kids were above three stars by chance? Maybe I didn't clarify well enough earlier, but USF had better athletes from top to bottom that we do.

We're not recruiting worse than Pitt or USF. This is on öööö personnel decisions and lack of leadership and not preparing them to be ready to play. Thats why I dont get the "But the Hill!!" argument either. Is the Institute making us recruit worse than ööööing Pitt?? Get a sense of reality.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree and thats ok. I do not disagree with the leadership and preparation statement. The Hill argument is what it is. I do have a sense of reality I assure you.

For you guys saying USF and Pitt aren’t more talented, why then do we have no NFL talent while both these teams Pitt guys into the league every year? I don’t think we have a single player on this team that will get drafted.

No but i'll do an analysis later. I need to look at transfers too since someone pointed out to me that they had some good transfers.

They out recruited us in 2018 (by a little), 2017 (by a little), 2016 (by a lot), and 2014 (by a little).

In 2015 we outrecruited them (largely due to their small class size).

Do we have any transfers other than Rivera? I'm not even going to look up who they have, but I'm sure they have more than 1 and I'll put the check in their column for that.

They out recruit us nearly every year.

Thanks. I know of two or three tranfers hwo were four star players. One was thee running back from UF, who left because he couldnt break the three deep. I could be very wrong.

Ok how bout this. Lets look at the rivals scores of all the players that played in that game and do a comparison.

Do a weighted average for starters vs 2nd string vs 3rd.

Rivals Recruiting Rankings:

Year Pitt GT
2014 44 47
2015 65 39
2016 29 67
2017 38 41
2018 36 53
2019 (So far) 38 48
Average 41.7 49.2

if you want to look at it player by player, have at it. They've pretty consistently recruited more highly ranked players than us each year over a 6 year period. It isn't a huge difference, but over an 85 man roster, it adds up.

I was talking about USF. I checked their rankings for the past 5 years and they were not better than us IIRC.

Recruit the 50th best roster, and you end up with the 50th best team. That is how it is going to work this way more often than not. Some teams have have an exceptional coaching staff that can elevate players. Others have a shit-show (FSU, I'm looking at you), that squanders talent. I don't think our coaching staff falls in either category. It is really, what it is.

And yes, I respond to my own posts now.
