womack=hotseat

That's nearly 30 points a game --and a 5-4 overall record during this span.

Good post TJ --I had not given this any thought.

We could've put that skinny boy in the dirt but chose not to. The few blitzes we ran were crap because they haven't been coached.
Okay, just what does that mean? We haven't coached them how to blitz? We haven't coached them how to tackle? What? That is just about as stupid a statement as I've seen in quite a while on face value. If we haven't practice it we won't do it in the game, so I'd say we have practiced blitzing. We blitzed last year as well if you were paying any attention. Now we may not have any LB who CAN blitz effectively. But that's different.

Dave Wommack doesn't know the meaning of the word blitz. Same thing every time...just the four down lineman...and only one of them has the talent to get to the quarterback. If you're not gonna rush more than four, why the hell are all the receivers wide open EVERY time?

That's selective amnesia. Tenuta did the same thing except it was always a blitz

Just relax... we were Top 10 in total D and several Def categories until the very late part of the season

You mean until we actually had to play good teams? Yeah, Tenuta actually shut down top 25 teams.

I don't think we could have stopped Harris if we rushed eleven. Florida State tried it and he torched their asses. We brought in extra people to stop Harris but, at this point, I don't know if anybody can stop that kid. He has eyes in the back of his head. Its not that we didn't bring the lumber its that he always knew where his hot reads were. That kid is some kinda good.

Well Said....keep in mind though that you're one of the few who actually give credit where credit is due. Instead several on here would rather bitch about the coaching and call for a beheading

It all seemed to start with the UVA game when their no-name QB looked like a Heisman trophy winner. Then we gave up 28 to FSU, 28 to UNC, faced a Patrick Nix offense, 42 to UGA, 38 to LSU, 27 to Clemson, and now 33 to Miami. Every real offense we are facing is killing us right now.

Easy on the criti****--you'll be labeled another Yukonwreck.:laugher:

I wonder if Tenuta's style wasn't just to compensate. Has he been doing the same slash and burn @ South Bend? I don't know I haven't been paying attention.

In any event, it seems like a return to the blitzkrieg style defense would be appropriate.

If that statement is high on your list of stupid statements, you haven't read many posts on this board.

That being said, it wasn't one of my most thought-out posts. I had a little bit to drink after the game last night. My main problem is with the defensive scheme overall. With proper coaching, we would've either:
1) had pressure on the qb;
2) had coverage on the wr.

We had neither. And just to add one more thing, we couldn't stop the run either.

You have to blitz and you have to blitz smart.
You can't just jumble guys in there and send them in and they all look like they have NO IDEA what they are doing (the object being to get to the QB).
On the other hand considering Tenuta blitzed every single play, you always had the offense guessing, giving you more chances to get to the QB. You will get burned a few times in this, however, it's not nearly as bad as getting burned every damn play cause no pass rush. And on a side note the blitzing almost always helped stop the run excluding the Clemson game in 2006 (Idk what the hell happened in that).
All this being said, we can't get Tenuta back, and we are stuck with Wommack.

Question what made CPJ want Wommack in the first place?

I fortunately had this guy blocked and didn't have to read his garbage until you quoted him.

THWG - Why is every one of your posts a personal insult?

Good question. A lot has to do with the fact that I'm get insulted on several occasions due to my strong opinions of some posts. And I know that doesn't make it right.

The other, well quite frankly I just feel like it and some of the posts may as well be an insult to us all for the sole fact that they've been posted for us to read.

And as for anything else, if you don't like it keep ignoring it.

Why is it that it's ok for some to call out or insult but when I return fire I'm critiqued or questioned?

Futhermore, Go **** Yourself....Just kidding

My point was and is, what should Miami scored against us exactly with our defensive talent? Are we really that much better than the team Miami lit up before us, FSU?

The issues start and pretty much end with offensive blocking. 33 points for Miami is not a surprise for me, but 17 points for us is. We'll see, on both offense and defense, against UNC.

Question what made CPJ want Wommack in the first place?

I'm pretty sure he wasn't CPJ's first choice. I think he wanted Ellis Johnson, but he took the South Carolina job (after VanGorder did a switcheroo).
