While I am not backing either of these coaches I thought it might be useful to note that Tenuta allowed a 21 ppg avg in his first 2 seasons while Wommack has also allowed 21 ppg through game 3 of his second season. Perhaps Paul Johnson raised the expectation level so high on offense that we assumed a similar level on defense? When Wommack gets in his recruits I think our defense will improve greatly. Just look at the studs we have coming in for the 2010 class. There are some beasts on defense.

Wommack had a great dline when he got here and morgan burnett. What did Tenuta have?

Wommack is averaging 30 PPG this season.

You tell me since you so obviously know the answer. For all I know Tenuta had 4 all-american defensive lineman and 2 Morgan Burnetts. While I don't actually think that was the case it was a long time ago so I don't remember.

Tenuta = most overrated DC ever. Guy is nothing special fellas.

Yeah, Tenuta's D sure has looked stout the last two weeks at ND.
Took ND the last two weeks. Thanks for costing us a ton of $ the last two games, Tenuta.

we didn't cover the spread the last two games either. :ugh:

This is all skeptical and doesn't matter in the grand scheme of what we are going to be doing on Saturdays.
Just pray Wommack can adjust (I doubt it), and figure out how to keep an offense off balance.
Offenses know how to beat him, he needs to counter now.

I think we should trade Wommack (who is averaging 26 pts/gm) for Tenuta (who is averaging 23 pts/gm); or maybe we should keep Wommack (who has had only one team score 30 or more on him) and forget about Tenuta (who has had two straight games of teams scoring 30 or more).:lol2:

Oh and note, that Tenuta's defense has not been on the field near as much because ND's offense has been pretty effective in all three games. That's a lot different than Wommack's defense having to support our '3-O' offense (that's '3 and Out' offense).

Seriously boys, can we at least compare our DC to other DC's who are getting the job done.

December 31 vs. LSU* L 38-3
September 17at Miami(FL) L 33-17

When we hire Tenuta back next week because of these threads, I'll be ready with my "I miss O'Leary" thread. I say bring back big George to be the DC! The mighty Knights are only allowing 22.3 ppg!

he might actually be looking for a job in a few weeks!

Neither of these guys is going to be our DC next season. Who do ya'll think we should go after for Wommack's replacement?
