World Class Speed

WC Speed > SEC Speed? I'm gonna have to see the math on that. I mean, all those SEC fans, ESPN, and the AUC can't be wrong.

Yeah, I was shocked at first too. But I think the "experts" at ESPN has already done the intense analysis. [tic]

I hope that is true; because in most cases I felt like our defense could run with them. I know they both had some big plays; but Spiller's reception was due to a mismatch, and Ford simply made some plays. It did not look like they could simply ran past our secondary at will.

That "mismatch" was against Cooper Taylor, who is supposed to be our fastest player. He bit on a route and Spiller got behind him. I can't think of who you'd rather have covering him--that touchdown had as much to do with a mental mistake as it did with speed. (Everyone is going to make a mistake sometime, though).

Spiller getting behind a DB on a go route is a mismatch for any player in college football. I'd bet there aren't 5 players in D1 that could catch him once he gets that step on you and a clear path to the endzone. I worry more aboout Spiller than Ford. I know Ford puts the numbers up in track, but Spiller looks faster playing football.
