Worst part of the day

I said yesterday during the game that we seem to let mistakes and bad luck bother us more as a team than last year. I have a feeling that outside of experience at their positions this is a spot where we really miss Shaq, Laskey, and Synjyn.

I was thinking this, too. Laskey would play angry in the face of adversity.

Bobby Dodd would have rolled over in his grave had he known Tech was passing the ball from its own 20 yard line with 1:29 before half time. Just run the ball three times and run out the clock. Go into the half leading 21-7. This was the turning point in the game. UNC gets the ball back and scores going into the half trailing 21-14.

In CPJ's defense, IIRC, we darn near connected for a big gain on first down, so the aggressive approach almost paid off. And Carolina had timeouts, so we weren't a sure bet to run out the clock (but we had been moving the ball well to that point).

But yeah, I actually said words to the effect of "just don't throw deep three times and punt." I agree that drive was the turning point, although we still had other chances to regain control of the game that we squandered.
