I actually thought this was a clever call by FSU, and wished we had done the "surprise" onside kick first.

I was also impressed how quickly our front line reacted and fell on the ball.

Well it's not like we weren't expecting it. I think we had the hands team out there expecting the onside.
 
solution: onside kick it every time. we don't have to worry about the defense or our kick coverage.

Our kick coverage was VERY good against FSU. They don't concern me half as much as our defense. I was worried about Greg Reid, but we did an excellent job bottling him up.

Even so that improves our defensive stats. It would take them forever to rack up 500+ yards only getting them in 30-40 yard chunks.

Back to the original question. I take a long time-consuming drive over a 2-play drive. Both result in the same points, but a long time consuming drive seems to say "you had many chances to stop us but you couldn't." Then we don't have to hear "it was one or two lucky plays."
