Would you take O\'Leary back?

If we could honorably get out of our commitment with Chan (can't and won't, but for sake of argument) would you welcome O'Leary back with open arms? He dumped us like a used up whore for ND, played us like a banjo when Auburn came calling, offended many people with his brisk manner and alienated many players with his "doghouse". But he won at Tech.

Would you be glad to have him back?

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

I'd cut off my left arm to get him back today! And don't tell me about resumes. I bet Gailey's resume said he was a football coach, and we hired him.

Really, if we hired O'Leary today, the joint would be jumpin' a week from tomorrow and we'd win. But Braine won't do that, so it will be a wake... a few good friends sitting around waiting for the inevitable, then shaking their heads and going home to get ready for the funeral... in Athens. And I hate Georgia and will be dumb enough to go to that game, knowing full well it will be a trip in a time capsule to Bill Lewis Land!

That pretty much sums up my views on this. Good response.

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

Moot point. Rumors are if Syracuse fires their HC, GO heading there. And will probably do a great job for them.

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

What about Jim Grobe? How about Norm Chow? How about Charlie Strong?

Any other suggestions?

And no... O'Leary as much as I appreciate what he did for Tech we did much more for his career.

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

i wouldnt rehire GOL to carry our gatorade

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

GOL did some good things for Tech but he burned too many bridges. NO way.

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

Can't believe that any logical person, and all Tech graduates are taught to look at facts and make the proper decision, would even broach the subject of bringing GOL back. Chan is OUR coach. To sing such gloom and doom as I am reading in this transition year is distressing.

Would I like to see us undefeated? Yes! Do I want to see a coaching change? NO!

Not until he pays us the money he owes us...

On second thought, nah - not even then.

ABSOLUTELY NOT

He knew what he wanted from day one...he was appreciated here like heck and he took his toys and his resume and left us. Good luck to him but we owe him ZERO.

Re: Would you take O\'Leary back?

As much as he's missed, naah, he burned too many bridges. Not to mention DB would never consider career suicide. "We're really happy to welcome George O'Leary back to Georgia Tech." Yeah..
