No way to take back O'Leary. His key to success was Friedgen.

Jimmy Robinson would be 7-0 now. He was to be the hire until Gailey somehow popped up.

Besides Jimmy "Mr. Excitement" loves Tech so much he probably would coach for free.

He was the choice of the former Tech football players. They know football and they know Robinson. We should have stuck Robinson.

If I were able to get on time machine and be able to change history here is what I'd do:

First I would go back and "help" Maryland win a couple more games in 2000. That way Vanderlinder would had been retained for the following year, enabling us to keep Fridge.

Second: I would have "helped" Bob Davie win a couple more games at Notre Dame so the Irish would have kept him as well in after 2001.

You see how stupid this all is? This is the only way I would have taken O'Leary back at this point. He left and that was the end of that. There was simply NO WAY we could have taken him back the way we did with Bobby Cremins. O'Leary, like Cremins was damaged goods the moment he got into his car and drove off the Tech campus for Hartsfield that Sunday morning. He burned his bridges, resume or not.

But I wish everything was just as it was back in 2000. We all do. We want to have stability at the coaching staff and not have to go through the agonizing transition of new coaches every 5 to seven years. It sucks! And we are going through it once again.

Just continue to show your support for the players AND the coaches!! Now that last night is history, don't forget we play the snobs next Saturday. Bee there, bee loud, and show up early for Yellow Jacket Alley and SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!!!

We're pretty unified on this one, aren't we? Of course that makes us "unappreciative pissants", I guess, but I say NO, NO, NO a thousand times too.

Why would we possibly want a coach back that turned our program around on a dime, coached us to 5 straight bowl games, 5 straight Top 25 finishes (one of only 5 teams in the entire nation that can say that), recruited extremely well, etc....when we can have this ragamuffin bunch that we have now...that are bound and determined to run our program into the ground in record time??????

we will not take the guy back because one thing we don't need in this program is having someone who doesn't want us.

o'leary did not want to be here and left on his own accord and is therefore not welcome back. even if he is the last coach on the face of this earth.

similarly, o'brien also wanted to ride o'leary's tail coats to notre dame. o'leary's blasted resume led to his ass being fired and o'brien's ass back here. if only o'leary had not messed around with his resume, o'brien would be at notre dame and chan <worth a million BUCKs> gailey could have applied his own system.

i don't think you worry too much about our program being ground but fortunately for us and unfortunately for you, chan gailey won't let that happen.

using ramblinwise's acronym, guys like beeware are FOOLs .. "Fans of O'Leary"s.
