WTF Call...

y'all gotta watch that face mask over, he didn't grab his mask at all, he grabbed his pads at the neck, just because his head turned doesn't mean it's a face mask. it did look like it though, so i'll give them a pass on that one. on coopers, i simply don't think thats the spirit of the rule. if thats illegal helmet to helmet than it should be called atleast twice on every play. like CPJ said after the game it's like holding.

it was very quick though, i think that's the definition of incidental, if he had pulled him down by the mask thats another thing

No such thing as incidental. they either call the 15 yarder or nothing. Things that make the call are the face turning around, like it did with Michael. Unfortunately, that call stands, even with review...the other call?? Now that is one that should be definitely reviewed by ACC--just to keep these guys from ref'ing another game.

Oh i agree that will be called every time, it did kind of look bad, the rule actually says incidental contact with the mask is a no call though if i'm not mistaken. that would have been a 5 yarder last year not a 15 yarder imo.

It would have been a 15 yarder under either set of rules. Incidental facemask was when your hand brushed along someone's facemask while you were making a tackle, ie you couldn't touch the ballcarrier's facemask period. Now, you can't grab onto it while making a tackle.

As I posted on the other thread under gth, Taylors head does turn while MJ has the facemask. Refs have got to call it as the PF now...basically, or VT fans would have a "rightful" argument that the refs screwed them.

Definitely bottle worthy.

It's probably my fault. I wore my "Rudy Was Offsides" shirt today.

Well as long as we're sharing confessions, I wore my "Wreck The Irish" shirt from the 1999 Gator Bowl game. :o
