When I first signed on this morning I made a guess as to how many NEGITIVE posts there would be. I thought maybe one here, one there.....

BOY WAS I WRONG!! Guys, we're STILL in the race for the ACC title, still have one of the PREMIRE coachs in college football, and in my eyes(a positive person) still have a very good chance to win out!(Yes, even at UGA) The polls are a poision. When we were flying under the radar, we were fine, we get ranked and it pops us! I would be fine staying unranked the rest of the year till after our Orange Bowl victory!!!!

Every team has bad days. UGAy with Bama, Fla with Ole Miss. The way you responde is POSITIVE and keep these kids positive! GO JACKETS!!!!:biggthumpup:
 
Right on Roswell...

I feel we match up better against the other teams on our schedule...I don't think a lot of fans realize just how bad UVA has pushed our defense around the last 5 or 6 years...I do not think our defense will play as bad the rest of the year..i.m.h.o. we all know our Oline and offense will have inconsistencies this year, but, our defense would be rock solid..I think the defense will be there the rest of the year and we will have a chance in each game the rest of the year..Hopefully this was our one bad game defensively...UVA dominated the time of possession and controlled the game, really worst than the final score indicated.

I really think we have a good shot at beating Fsu. Fsu along with UNC will be tough, but, I think our defense will play better in those games and we at least take one of the next 2...
 
You expected not to see upset people the day we lost our homecoming game where a win would have gained us major national attention, set up a massive show down next week, AND put us in the driver's seat for the division title? I think it would be worse if people WEREN'T upset about this...what kind of apathy would that be? No one's saying we should fire Paul or bashing on our kids' characters or that the season is now a failure...the fans are just upset about a big loss, and I'm sure the players and coaches are too

You are ridiculous if you think we are still in the conference race with two losses.
 
Virginia has to lose 2 more times as well. And we have to win out.

2 more times to the likes of Wake, Clemson, Miami, BC, VPI.

Granted the ACC is down this year. NON of these teams are a cake walk!!!

Thats what im talking about "and we have to win out" like its some IMPOSSIBLE task. it is very likely for UVA to lose 2 and VPI lose 1.:biggthumpup:

VPI losing one is more likely than UVA losing two more just by the way they've been playing. By and by, both Tyrod and Sean Glennon were injured yesterday against FSU.
 
I am upset by the loss --I'm always upset when GT loses.

There were so many reasons why we lost this game; our D-line got no pressure on the QB, our LB's had a fairly bad day making 1-on-1 tackles beyond the line of scrimmage, our freshman CB was exposed all day, and our QB had two crucial fumbles --one on the five yard line.

These points are what make me upset --but it is over and time to move on to FSU. Why worry about UVA losing two, VT losing another? If GT does not improve in the above areas then we will not beat FSU.

Don't forget that UVA played a very good game yesterday --their offensive game plan exposed our weakness and took advantage of it. Their defense adjusted and stopped what was working for us early on offense.

I'm not downing anything CPJ did yesterday --but I think we got outcoached by Groh. Again --not that we necessarily did anything bad scheme-wise, UVA just had a great game on the headsets IMO.
 
We're "still in it" but it's unrealistic. We need to improve, correct our mistakes and try to get into the post season. We're lucky to be where we are right now although the loss to Virginny is inexcusable.

We're essentially mathematically eliminated from the ACC Championship game at this point. We'd have to hope for a 4 way tie, with us holding 2 of the 4 tiebreakers, and us having a better ranking than the other four. That's the only way at this point.

That means Duke would have to end with the same ACC record as us, UVA, and UNC, and VT would have to lose out so they're out of contention.

That's what that means.

Let that sink in. Our only prayer is that we end tied in the division lead with Duke, so that our head to head win vs them counts as something. AND a higher BCS ranking than the other 3.

Any hope of the ACCCG is complete insanity. I will bet $100 vs a beer that we don't get to the ACCCG.

There is one and only one remaining goal left, for this team - beat UGA. We shat the rest of our goals out yesterday.

I disagree. It's a goal to win 8 games. Why? That is OVER performing the previous regime. You always wanna do that.

Our goal has never been to win 8 games, unless you're Dave Braine. Our goals are and always have been 3 things:

1) Win ACC
2) New Years Day Bowl Game
3) Beat UGA

3 is the only one left.
