Yall Should be ASHAMED!!!

Our goal has never been to win 8 games, unless you're Dave Braine. Our goals are and always have been 3 things:

1) Win ACC
2) New Years Day Bowl Game
3) Beat UGA

3 is the only one left.
I agree those are always out goals. But anyone who realistically thought that's where this team would end up is really drinking the kool-aid.

BC won the Atlantic with 2 losses last year and WF the year before. Granted, we will need a resurgence of the Atlantic in intradivisional game, but it has happened before. Let's not forget 5 out of the 6 teams in the Coastal are halfway or less through their conference schedule.

Who set those goals...

....because I think they stink.

You should have only one goal - to win EVERY game you play. The first two "goals" are not really goals but merely by-products of winning. Win - and those other things will take care of themselves.

If those are actually the team's goals, I expect to see them mail it in until we get to UGA. In fact, why don't we just forfeit the games against FSU, Miami and UNC and start practicing for the UGA game? (Sadly, I think some of you would actually agree with that.)

Those goals violate almost every goal setting principle out there. "Winning the ACC" depends on what other teams will do. Just look at the discussion in this thread about how how other teams must lose for us to get there, etc, etc. That's not a good goal. "A New Year's Day Bowl game" is an even worse goal. That depends on politics, fan support, etc, etc.

Goal setting 101 states that goals must be something you can control. All we can control is how we play. THAT should be our only goal.

So a 10-2 team with a win over UGA won't play on New Years Day? Please tell me you're still drunk.

Yesterday sucked and I don't think we'll win out, but it's obvious the last regime has left our fan base more broken than I thought when one bad game has everybody just packing it up for the rest of the season.

O'leary did, originally, and we've stuck to them as openly stated goals every year since. Chan got fired for failing, consistently, on all of them.

Where have you been?

A 10-2 team from the ACC will only be playing on New Year's day if they either win the ACCCG or came in second. That basically got eliminated for us on Sat. Remember, this is the ACC. We're not good this year.

Quit listening to what SEC fans tell you. The ACC is NOT as bad as people think it is.

Touche!!
Maybe I've been asleep at the wheel.

I do not remember that O'leary set them, but I do remember discussion of those "goals" when we talked about coaches. U thought they were the floors of what we would accept - not goals for the team.

And if those are our goals, how often do we have to meet them to save the coach's job? Every year, every other year, every third year, once a decade?

I maintain that they are poor team goals.

Man..some of you are going all CPJ on the rest of the us posters. We need to whip this fanbase into shape! UP DOWNS FOR EVERYONE!
