Players don't care....

And it certainly doesn't help now that guys like Dwyer are tweeting that CPJ is the problem (after Sat's debacle).

You need the player-alumni behind the coach/program especially for recruiting purposes. CPJ has a tough enough time with recruiting as it is (no need to rehash all of those factors) - now he has the {most visible} ex-players and media working against him.

Link plz

Amazing!!!! This is exactly what I told Mack and Stingger90 at a game years ago. I said we have 11 players but no team. Whose fault is it, the head man, none other than Pajama Johnson ie dumbo jr. This guy either rights the ship by getting rid of players, pulling schollys etc or he has to go because he is in fact is the problem!

recap of what Dwyer tweeted? He must have taken whatever it was down...

PJ alluded to some chemistry problems two years ago, something he sensed before the start of the season but couldn't get corrected and it manifested itself with a trip to Shrevevegas instead of another run at the ACCCG. I don't think there is much of a chemistry issue now (unless Royer the Destroyer is teaching it, but I digress), but there isn't a vocal on the field leader. Tevin might be great on the practice field and in the offseason but the team needs a take-charge guy out there. I hope Vad can be that guy. He needs to be.
I'd also like to see this tweet in question from JD.

We really should have capitalized on the Orange Bowl appearance in recruiting. Prospects will go to winners, in addition to places where they can get into school and "where they will help them get ready for the NFL" (even typing that makes a peristaltic wave come up). We need to win again quickly.

I didn't see anything after this game, either.

I did see him Tweet something quite some time ago about a high school RB he supported going to another school over GT because he wanted to win championships.

The god-damned problem is the entitlement displayed by the 2007 class. It has ruined everything about the program and continues to do so with rare exceptions.

The media, fans, and EVERYONE ELSE who will not shut up about one freaking class of student athletes as though they're gods is what allows it to continue to fester like a freaking cancer.

Winning the ACCCG WITHOUT any of the entitled, selfish, lazy, and egotistical God's class to GT football will go a loooooong way to ridding our locker-room of this cancer.

No other team deals with as much external negativity as this one. Think about it. Our own fans don't think the players are BCS-worthy. The local media doesn't think they're BCS worthy. We have people painting Chan ----ing Gailey as some knight in shining armor that can recruit heroes! It's not the athletes it's the god-damned effort!

I am sick and tired of hearing about Dwyer mouthing off when he's busy tripping over himself and fumbling against the freaking Cleveland...BROWNS!

I am sick and tired of hearing about players from the 2007 class hanging around the team locker-room talking ----.

That class beat UGA and won an ACCCG, and they think it's all because of them and the media, fans, opposing coaches, opposing teams, and opposing fans all agree. It's no wonder this team loses heart when it hits adversity, but we need a team of believers, and we need a TEAM. I wouldn't mind it if they did something cheesy like come out of the tunnel arm-in-arm for the ACCCG. Just show that you trust in each other to get the job done. There's no trust out there.

This school wears even the non-athlete down, and I fear that by the team they're upper-classmen, it's all about individual development, getting the degree, and then praying for luck in the workouts. We have become a stepping stone school, rather than a place people come to play and enjoy football and continue Tech's historic tradition on the gridiron.

Overall, as a society, I think teenagers and young adults today are under-motivated.

It comes from parents who are more concerned with acting like their friends than a parental figure, years of getting a trophy just for showing up and being told you're a special flower and a country the thrives on instant gratification with as little work as possible. I bet most teams and coaches deal with this to an extent and to overcome it you have to be a master motivator. I think Saban seems to know how to do it, he's an a-hole, it works. Richt takes a babying approach and then hopes that the players have the talent to overcome it. CPJ seems a little lost as to how to deal with it. Navy players are self motivated. GSU? Well, I'd argue that was not only a different time when he was there, but since it's a lower division they play for pride and the love of the game, most of them know they are not going to the NFL.

I'd like to believe that Tech recruits players of a different calibre, but the evidence doesn't show that. We seem to continue to have way too much attrition, each off season and that tells me something is deeply wrong.

He tweeted at Burnett (paraphrasing, going off memory) 'we know what the real problem is'.

I just looked back through and don't see it now. But I didn't drink before or during the game - didn't start until later in the evening. I read it on the way home from the game.

@M_Butler31 smh man I feel bad for those boys Bc we know what the problem is @Its_dreese @dmorg91 @MoBetta_42 @DemaryiusT @Mario_NoFlex8

Man, I haven't heard that name in years. Did you have him for Chem I, too?

I don't hate PJ and I think his system will absolutely work well with solid talent (see 2009). But I don't think he handles 18-22 year old kids very well and we need a new face that can recruit and better manage these young men. PJ can flat out coach, but he needs help off the field. I'm not saying fire PJ, I'm saying hiring a new recruiting coordinator and dc.
VAD>Tevin.

Good post.

PJ's main problem with motivating others, in my completely uneducated opinion, is he's so amazingly personally motivated to win himself, it blinds him to the fact that others might not be as motivated as he is. He has to find a way to transfer his own motivation to his players.

That flu must have been going around for a long time. :hsugh:

Wow! Just WOW!

I personally know each of the 2007 class and none of them feel entitled, nor are they responsible for this years team losing heart.

Take a pill dude, you need one. I see you joined in 2010. If you are on the team, stay off ST and earn some heart. If you are not, your opinion is worthless.

I read in another post that PJ has lost the team. If so, all I can ask is why?

After all, we are in the biggest game in the conference this year. We have a chance to go to the Orange Bowl.

You are way off base.

Seriously. That could be read a bazillion different ways.

Agreed. But if a future recruit were to ask any of the guys mentioned in the tweet about the current coaching staff, how do you think they would respond?

Given the early departures (including some rumored this year) and other factors, I think we can read between the lines here.

Ibee, you probably have greater insight than any of the rest of us. Do you agree that they're saying CPJ is the problem?

I just have a hard time believing that a guy that can have so much success as a head coach at Southern and Navy and whose offense is getting it done at this level is really the problem. I'm seriously confused on how a guy that can't relate to the team as a head coach has a nearly 70% winning record before coming to Tech. Any insights that you can add to what Dwyer's twett meant would be appreciated.
