Uzzi projected 4th Rd in NFL Draft

Isn't this CPJ's first freshman class to be seniors, if you discount 2008 since he was hired at the tail end of that recruiting season? How are you already making those conclusions?

not an argument.. just cold hard fact

Uhm, not a fact. Having a 4th and 6th/7th rounder is about average for us. Not terrible seeing as this is CPJ's first year.

1993 - 2nd and 5th rounder
1994 - 2 5th rounders
1995 - 1 each of 5th, 6th, 7th rounds
1996 - 2nd and 3rd rounds
1997 - Nobody
1998 - 1st rounder and 6th rounder
1999 - 1 each of 4th, 5th, and 7th rounds
2000 - one each of 2nd, 3rd, and 7th rounds
2001 - Nobody
2002 - 6th rounder
2003 - Hollings in supplemental draft
2004 - A lot
2005 - Nobody
2006 - 1 each of 3rd, 4th, 5th rounds
2007 - 1st rounder and 4th rounder
2008 - 1 each of 3rd, 4th, and 6th rounds
2009 - 3rd, 6th, and 2 7th rounders
2010 - a lot
2011 - 7th rounder
2012 - 2nd rounder

Going back to 1992 (when the draft was a lot bigger), we'd still be doing well above average.

For the first few years of CPJ's recruiting, that's not so bad. Very few coaches hit the ground running with stud recruits. Not counting that judging the 2008 class on CPJ, when he basically had one month to recruit, makes no sense.

If you want to compare fair representations, wait a few years and then let's see what happens.

I can see Orwin going late in the draft. Being able to return KO's and punts on top of being a solid slot receiver could get his name called. He hurt his draft standing by not playing in the ACCCG. He had a chance to highlight his skills on national TV. A big bowl game would help.

I don't get Barnes. I guess he just isn't mean enough to play up to his potential. He has an NFL body, he just has never gone out there and dominated a game.

He did once, Tajh Boyd remembers it.

Sweeting getting drafted is laughable. He is horrible

Guy is a multi-year starter and he's "horrible"? Really? Sweeting is pretty good and I think he could get drafted.

If Sweeting is projected 6-7 round, makes you worry about what Jemea Thomas is hearing, because he's pretty good too.

STTE of "Boy you promised me you'd get a degree!"

Not all multi year starters are good. We simply had nobody better which is a problem in itself. All I saw sweeting do this season was regress from last year and get burned time after time.

Mario Butler was a multi year starter too and he was one of the worst corners I have ever seen play at Tech.

Anyone else find it interesting that our top draft prospect this year is an offensive lineman? If all our OL are undersized and taught ineffective highschoolesque techniques how did he get projected to the 4th round?

RG3 needs a high school offense style blocker

Probably the same way our wide receivers are drafted early.

Uzzi has always been our best lineman by far. Not really surprising he is going that high. He deserves it.

We never saw how good Sweeting really is because the DL was so crappy during his career.

Agreed. If he works hard and puts up some strong numbers at the combine, he could bump up a round or two. The potential is there IMO.

This represents PJ's first class (transitional year) and his first full class as far as seniors and redshirt seniors go. Give it time.

Gailey's first two classes were the 2002, and 2003 class. There were two drafted players from the 2003 class. Both happened to be 5th year players when they got drafted. No drafted players from 2002.

Settle down with the stupid as öööö comments.

When 2012 BOR is telling you to stop freaking out, you must be freaking way out.

And yet he was signed by the Cowboys in 2011 and is currently with the Broncos. Granted, he's not playing, but not bad for one of the worst corners you've ever seen play at GT.

Cornerback U, obviously.

How long have you been watching Tech? Jamara Clark says hi.
