I'm not going to argue about being an engineer vs. a ööööööö NFL player. Original comment was stupid about paying for Champ Bailey when he retires.

given that data is always describing the past, and given the amount of press the issue of former players ending up destitute has had, i dont think the same percentages will play out for the current class of players

and, as noted above, Champ Bailey was not an average player, but a far-above-average player both in longevity and pay grade. Similar to Hines Ward, another awesome NFL player that started out at Georgie and was an amazing player in the NFL for many years and will never be broke

Why would anyone ever take a georgia players side on this board? öööö that bastard. Champ bailey has always been overrated in my opinion, and so has hines ward. I don't care how long it's been since they played college ball...I will always pull against them and hope they fail because when they do well, it hurts GT. recruits pay attention to how many NFL players come from what school.

I didn't go to GT, I make more than 80k, and I think you're being a douche. The thing you don't consider is that champ probably blows all his money or booze whores and child support, while the avg Tech grad invests their money into a 401k and will indeed do better than him in the long run.

I have no idea what Bailey does with his money but he's making over $10 million per year and has made over $130 million in his career. Assertions that one player will go broke just because some others do is juvenile and stupid.

I have no affinity for the guy but some of you let your obvious hatred for anything related to UGA blind you to any type of reason or sanity.

Well, to a couple of points.

What about GT players in the NFL not having graduated? Are they "doomed?"

And, more importantly, and assuming the facts and dollars are as stated, when we again start winning big (we will, right?) then everyone needs to remember that your degree will be worth less & less!

Many, many here will start making less money at their current job because we win on Saturdays, and for those really in the big time you will probably lose your jobs.

So, for many, pray hard that the Hillnerds keep hurting our coaches.
 
Probably move him to free safety if he stays......he got blasted yesterday.
