Also, pretty sure you typing at any speed won't affect comprehension.

Unless him typing really slow gets him to understand what everyone else is saying, this is a lost cause.

I hope that I see you at games over the next five years sulking in your seat every time Griffin makes a play.

Don't worry you won't have to. He'll get maybe 1-2 carries a game for 1-4 yards per play.

Just like every other converted a back.

And you're still basing that on the fact that he has no BCS offers? Because in case you missed it, that's incorrect. Or are you basing it off of the film you watched? Or the McEachern games you attended?

You don't have any idea if he'll be good. I don't either. Nobody does about high school athletes. But to be so sure about this is hysterical.

Can someone confirm that schools/coaches can not comment about a kid they are recruiting until they've signed on NSD?

Like I know CPJ sometimes says a kid can tell everyone that X, Y, Z schools offered but there's no way to confirm it because the schools aren't allowed to confirm or deny it or something like that.

Anyone know what the NCAA rule is regarding that?

Maybe, maybe not.

Would you rather leave the scholly unused? Do you not think the staff thinks this kid the best we can get for that slot?

It's not like we are taking away a potential slot saved for Carl Lawson just so we can get this kid.

That is correct. Schools can't talk about any PSAs until they have their letters of intent. They can make broad statements (I've heard CPJ say things like "we're looking at someone up in New Jersey") but can't mention by name or get too specific.

Thanks. You happen to know the name of this rule so I can look it up and get an official definition?

I've made no such argument that the recruiting rankings are correct. In fact I called UNC's recruiting "ööööty".

then on what basis is ours and UNC's recruiting in this particular class ööööty?

In relation to this awful thread, this one about Jamal Golden's commitment makes me laugh. Lot of hate in that thread also due to lack of top offers. That one's already turned out ok.

Reminds me oh Julian Burnett: not rated high...not many outstanding offers...but player of the year awards. I'll take it.

My post from that thread. Does Ty have any awards? At least he picked up a last minute offer from a team that has beat us since CPJ got here. Granted it was 2008.

An important caveat to remember about Tech recruiting is that CPJ's staff apparently has an eye for talent, because it seems that we offer kids before they become popular with the football factories. So, at first, a kid may have no/low stars, but once the Bamas jump on board, his stock rises.

The problem with this is that many Tech fans seem to need outside validation before they can feel good about Tech's recruits. Apparently, CPJ has respect among other coaches, and they know that if he offers a kid, then that kid is good. Actually, it's a little unfair that CPJ does the initial scouting, then the vultures swoop in at the 11th hour and steal away our best recruits.

Seeing this happen every year lets me know that CPJ knows what he is doing when it comes to scouting talent.

Griffin was hurt (in what seem like fluke injuries) in both 2011 and 2012. Played very well when healthy. Not going to pick up many awards when that happens. Doesn't mean a knock on his ability.

I've heard the exact opposite opinion is held by some of our players.

That's not really typing slowly. More like just hitting enter a lot.
