any way to chart CPJ's twitter velocity?

As stated above, it's validated because of what he's tweeting. No way half of that is vetted by the SID. It's got misspellings, and controversial statements, and as it's evolved it's not all been about Tech at all.

How about @CBSSports show some golf #masters and stop worrying about the intentions of committe

After watching tape way to many unforced errors on O and missed tackles on D. Some good individual efforts but got to coach and play better

You better fasten your chin strap and put some air in your helmet @FinalFour cause unless you get mauled they ain't no fouls in this game!,

Just remember when things are tough nobody wants to hear the labor pains, they just want to see the baby!!!

Martin Laird had 22 putts today to shoot 63 that sounds like about 12 holes for @WesDurham .

Saw where @ConanOBrien is in town. Glad he finally put on the right jersey and threw away the wrong jersey. http://teamcoco.com/video/conan-sucks-up-to-atlanta-sports

Want could be better than @Braves opening day? Hanging out with @MissAmerica pic.twitter.com/1LXUcJ3vZl

Where does Craig Sager get those jackets? I need to pick some of those up for my assistant coaches.

I can see the PR asking Paul Johnson "Which words do you want me to misspell? How many exclamation marks do you want? Who are you pissed off at today?"

I was trolling on the gentleman's claim of CPJ being a family friend.

Guys I'm CPJ and I can tell you right now it's not me tweeting. Just ask demjackets.

using the word 'velocity' in this context irks me for some reason. it's like the term "trending" - you dont just "trend", trend implies some directionality. if no directionality is given the concept of "trending" seems meaningless. if one intends to mean a term similar to "volume of trades" using a stock market analogy, rather than changes in stock price, then there are better terms to use than "trending"

no wonder people dont know what words mean

just because it is measured as per unit time, doesnt make it a 'velocity' (which is also a vector, not scalar).

twitter velocity is the kind of term the exemplifies internet culture, substituting facts with flashy names

I don't know why. Velocity is distance per time. I'm asking if there's an easy way to chart CPJ's post per day without going back day by day and adding them up.

Perhaps "frequency" would irk you less? I'd contend that either term could be used in this context, given how 'velocity' has also been used to describe the flow of money / etc.

Cabrera is tougher than woodpecker lips what a competitor !!! @The_Masters

yes, i would find that term much more appropriate

for one, its a scalar, not a vector. second, a rate of something per time is usually called frequency while "velocity" is rate of change of distance/time. there is no distance in a tweet. it is a complete and utter misnomer;

if it is used in financial circles then they are also idiots because unless they are talking about the length of a bill, there is no distance in money either. just jargon so they sound smart when they sit on the tv blabbling all day long.

You're trying too hard to sound smart and failing at it

its not narrow, its specific an accurate. it relates to position and movement, not amounts. i guess studying physics it bothers me. also, how do you account for the lack of a DIRECTION since velocity is a VECTOR
