When it requires effort to find out how many people your school brought on campus to prey on legitimate students and not do a öööö thing academically, there is a problem.
 
Football players are aggressive, they're hostile, and they don't look beyond today, so what do you expect?

It's also not apples to apples.

The number they are quoting Florida is getting arrested over a longer period. I think it's more comparable to this statistic:

By age 23, almost a third of Americans have been arrested for a crime, according to a new study that researchers say is a measure of growing exposure to the criminal justice system in everyday life.

The number from my article is over an eleven year period, from 2000 to 2011 so I'm not sure it's all that different (you have to click through to another link to get to that detail though.)

Since 2000, the San Diego Union Tribune has found 573 NFL players arrested for things bigger than speeding. That’s an arrest rate of 1 in every 45 players.

Still not totally apples to apples because I'm guessing the Florida number will contain several arrests of players who are no longer in football, but I don't think the difference in the two statistics is big enough to completely explain away the disparity.

The average NFL career is something like 3 years, so it's checking if they got arrested in those 3 years and not outside that.

Whereas, the Florida one is a large chunk of players' adult/teenager life. More comparable to the 23 year old stat.
 
I haven't, somehow. Been in handcuffs but never in jail. Bailed a handful out, though.
 
Being arrested does not mean you did anything wrong. Better question: How many have been convicted of a crime?

I would agree if you throw out all arrests before age 18, which could be a very large percentage.

Over 60, never arrested, lots different in today's
world though, I will say I had one speeding ticket
at 18 and that was a speed trap

Guess I just lead a dull life but that's ok
