I'm not seeing a whole lot of GT prestige in that class list.

Could have sworn HTS was around when I was a student back in 2009.

Dammit i wanted to major in the history of martial arts!!!!!!

Sure CE is just moving poop through a pipe, but I wouldn't call it a patsy major.

I actually took that class. It was as awesome as you think it is. Yes, I am a total nerd, and I have no shame.

So I am not sure if this is real or not. But if it is true, I don't really see how this improves things if SA's are still required to take Calc 1 and 2...

Calc is 'hard', but not as hard as it is when you have 3 other hard classes in the semester in addition to all your football and being an 18-21 year old kid stuff. As long as you don't smoke weed erryday and never go to class, it goes a long way towards making it less of a monolithic challenge to remove all of the other distractions.

That makes sense...do you think the perception will change though? A recruit still sees the barrier of those two courses in our curriculum verses another school?

I just got fired because my GT degree was devalued upon this announcement. Not really, but that's what some fans may argue.

As a direct result of this announcement, I was asked to take a pay cut and include bathroom "maintenance" as one of my daily duties.

What. Have. We. Done.:turbonoes: :hsughcry:

Don't we have the College of Management to attract women and athletes to Tech? Because that's where they all are.

No I doubt the perception will change. This major is more likely to be used as a tool for coaches to say "look, it's not that bad" rather than "we got free boats and hoes, too". The sales pitch will probably be made to the individual recruits rather than to the public image. For those willing to accept a little bit of challenge who might otherwise be turned away by the "yeah it is that bad but we totes have lots of support for you" pitch that athletes may have gotten in the past, this could do the trick. It's a small step towards competing for the highly rated guys who are enrolling at other academic schools over us.

Due to these classes being added, I will no longer be a Tech fan due to our academic prestige diminishing. I've decided to be a Harvard fan.

I am a bit confused by that as well. I spoke to Peterson a year ago and he said that the major recruiting obstacle for us are the Calculus requirements.

He knows his football too, having played at KState and tried out for the St Louis Cardinals back in the day.

I'm just going to throw my degree away now. It's clearly worthless.

Need more beautiful Southern women in the school now. Still to many sweaty Warcraft nerds.
