Sewak

Here is the flip side, if I am Sewak and I've been coaching for 40 years, I know that this line looks like crap. I know that the line has been a weakness most years. At what point does a coach stop dicking over his buddy. Sewak either has plenty of cash to retire on, or he has a severe gambling problem.

Ride off into the sunset Mike. It's over there, just past the cliff.

As much as I'd like to see this, I just can't imagine it today. Though part of me would enjoy a press conference afterwards where Sewak is asked why he's decided to leave.

Sewak: Well, you've probably noticed that I've been pretty bad at my job for a while.
CPJ: Awful.
Sewak: I just figured, and we agreed, that someone else..
CPJ: A third grader, maybe.
Sewak: ..may be able to improve on what's been built here while I pursue my dream-
CPJ: -of being an assistant OL coach at Valdosta State, okay, this is over. John Davis, if you're watching this, pick up your ööööing phone.

He shoulda kept Jon on staff. Then we win a couple of MNCs.

Quick question: how many NC's have the other teams that Tenuta coached on won? Hell, for that matter, how many conference championships have Tenuta's teams played for since he left Tech?

<sarcasm>
Surely someone with the impeccable skills you mention would be sought after by the very top programs in the country. Surprising indeed that Alabama hasn't fired Kirby Smart to replace him with JT. Pretty stupid of Saban IMO. </sarcasm>

You do know he fired Womack the year we won the acccg, right?

Womack was fired because CPJ thought we would be better with someone else. Then we hired Groh.

How did mighty Bama do vs Dave lately!?

You don't like Tenuta?, bro?

no, i like defense, not blitzfense

Tenuta is an ass that thinks he is above the college level and wont recruit.

His defenses are average and predictable, thats why he keeps moving into the same job at another school, from Notre Dame to NCState and now UVa

Charles Kelly - that's the guy that i wish would have stayed. He would have made a difference imo

Obviously the offensive line has been a disappointment. Mason obviously was a great loss. He had the ability to make the center and tackle beside him better, and any offensive lineman will tell you the guy next to you affects how you play. But, the offensive disaster of this season is on the whole offense and all of the offensive coaches. Since ND and Duke defenses have said, "Let's go after them and see if they can handle it." For the most part, we have not.

Va Tech often had no player more than six yards off the ball, with seven or eight in the box. No offensive line can block those numbers. You have to get the ball where the safeties have abandoned. This was our best play of the night, the early pass to Jeune. The passes to the A backs were good calls. But, we simply have not had the play calls, quarterback, receivers, runners and line to take advantage of what defenses have dared us to do.

Womack has field decent defenses before and after Tech. But his time here was pretty bad.

Yeah, I don't get it. Our defense in '09 was terrible and firing him seemed like the right thing. We had Burnett and D. Morgan that year too. But we did decently in '08 with one more NFL guy in M. Johnson. And now he's fielding a top defense at Ole Miss, which has a lot more talent for sure, but wasn't a top defense when he got there. Maybe we should have been more patient with him. Groh was worse.

This. Was it ever confirmed that he left because he wasn't offered the D-coordinator position, or did he leave before it was even an issue?

from what i heard, he was basically offered the "DC-in-waiting" position at FSU

No way Sewak is fired. CPJ won't get rid of guy who know EXACTLY what he wants and how he wants the OLine to be coached. I think he should be fired too but there is better chance for some like Speed to be fired before Sewak.

As to what Sewak brings, he has been surprisingly good in recruiting the pass couple classes

Charles Kelly should've been the DC immediately after the ACCCG in 2012.

DaBuzz, Tenuta may help Ohio St. to a conference title pre GT

Yes, plus 2-year contract where we only offered one...with less $$.

Ted Roof, DC - $550k
Charles Kelley, DC - $500k
Jeramy Pruitt, DC - $1.3 M

Who would you prefer?

I expect Kelley to move up to the Big Boy league soon. Maybe to Awbern at the end of the season.

you seem poorly informed. btw, TR was the DC at auburn, remember that? Kelly is at a top10 team, one that gets a boatload of talent every year... where does he need to "move up" to? you seem out of touch

After I read "Big Boy" league - I thought you might have been referring to the NFL. But Auburn? I don't think Auburn will be getting rid of their staff anytime soon. Besides, even deep pockets have their limits.

This is also ignoring the fact that Auburn has a new DC in Will "Boom Mother Effer" Mushchamp.

FatJacket astounds with new levels of retardness.

Hard to believe it's largely the same unit that manhandled the UGA, FSU, and Miss St front 7s in consecutive games last season. Shaq just might have been the best player we've had since Calvin. Just crazy.

Daryl Richard and Vance Walker were both good DTs. Pretty sure both of them found an NFL roster at least for a min. That front four of Johnson, Morgan, Richard and Walker was probably one of the best GT has ever had.

Googled salaries for Roof Kelley and Pruitt.

Yeah I forgot about Muschamp newly arrived at Auburn, but hey he has 5 conference losses in one year and make that 6 after the Iron Bowl. The yellow lumber dude won't stand for that.

Muschamp - $1.6M

Kelley will move on up some where unless Jimbo comes up with some dough. He came from the SEC, he will return.

Ps: proper spelling of Retard is not Retart. To me, Retart is a misspelling of ReStart.

All of this. I was on the hype-train because of this. Lesson learned.
