have I witnesses what I just saw. We are in FG range and run the ball INSIDE the tackles 4 straight times including the holding penalty.

Gentlemen, that is NFL coaching PERIOD................

last 4 runs: stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff

so what do we do on 3rd and long to alleviate a very low percentage field goal? run

The first 3 runs in the middle would have won us the game if our idiot O line hadn't held. The first and second down playcalls were perfect.

We took the ball right out of Bennett's hands
we SHOULD HAVE BEEN throwing the ball especially after the holding call.....CAN'T BELIEVE we ran the ball!!!!

Like I said in another post, Playing for Field goals cost us the UVA game and this game. This is "Chan Ball" at its best and the reason we will never be more then a middle of the pack team under his leadership! Rad grow some freaking Balls and show this guy the door please!

That is what I meant by NFL coaching bsakoff. It is just sickening.

The GT community and family deserve a lot better.

Sorry Beej, there were two more downs in there and I still don't trust Bell to hit a game winning 40+ yarder.

We could have even run another tunnel screen or something in there to try and pick up 5 or ten yards.

The running of the ball is not the point. It is how and where we tried to run it.

And why is anyone surprised after this many years? What have you been watching and praising?

What don't you understand? This will not ever be any different with ccg here. Why is anyone upset when they knew this was what would happen?

And I don't know if the community deserves better, but our S/As deserve a WHOLE HELL of a LOT better.

A LOT.

But to many ccg is more important than they are.

Yes, it was NFL all the way. Nevertheless, take away a third and hold and it was a chip shot for the FG after TG's gain on the holding play. Don't forget that Ross used the same philosophy (FG) against NC to tie them in 1990.

Football. Nuts! :bricks:

I have an idea, istead of settling for a 42 yeard field goal (which is what we were trying to do when the holding call occurred) throw the GD football and move it into the 34 yeard range. I cant wait to see the excuses of the FOC's after this one.

I disagree....ask your brother....I don't think many NFL teams settle for a 42 yard field goal attempt with over 1 minute on the clock and timeouts left....and they sure as hell don't settle for a 52 yard attempt.

They doesn't even rank as good high school coaching. It's time for Chan to go .....NOW....let Tenuta coach the rest of the year. Not that I'm promoting him for head coach....just sick of this crap every week when these kids play their heart out and get short changed by the coach.

I'm about to ask a crazy question. Why is it that we see the faults in Gailey's style ( too conservative) and yet all of these NFL and other experts think that he is a great coach?

What are we missing? Or what are they missing?

I think that it's recognition that the pro players are more disciplined (except D. Hall) and better at their jobs than college player. Therefore, what works well in the pros may be of lesser value in the college ranks.

Then, the entire team wouldn't show up until the 2nd quarter or so.

(not defending Chan here, btw)

Well...somebody has to be the head coach..not promoting him for the job....just fed up and through with Chan

RM-2,
The best way I can think of to get over this debacle is just go vomit, then vomit some more and then some more.

I still say we'll be lucky to finish .500 for the year and if we don't get some stuff corrected fast, UGA will kick our hind ends proper. Then it'll be another 12 months of having to listen to that bunch from over yonder.

BTW:
the holding calls against our #74 & #64, did anyone see the hold? Did anyone see a good reason for the call?

Lining up wrong:
This is still a thorn in my straddle. Does look like the coaches could teach the team how to line up.
One play I noticed, Maryland lined up in a "V" look and appeared to only have 3 men on the line. NO CALL though.

Yes, 64 held him.

But that is not relevant. Those calls are part of the game.

As is a good coach having him team ready to play, and putting his players in situations to succeed.

But some coaches think they are more important than the team or school.

Been there, Done that. Happens more than you think in the NFL.
