I'm not a Chan fan, but he was solid. If one great season every five is your barometer of success, then we simply disagree. Eight years in, I expect a consistently good team with a run at greatness every four to five years. We are not seeing that. We are seeing the same problems (OL, recruiting) year after year. He's also turned in two more losing seasons than Chan. His seat needs to be hot.Don't remember 11-3 with your boy Chan and Pat either '92. and I'm old enough to remember 1 win years.
Ross was a failure then, correct?I'm not a Chan fan, but he was solid. If one great season every five is your barometer of success, then we simply disagree. Yeah, that sucked for sure.
I don't remember ever going 11-3 with chan, either.
Or going to, and winning an orange bowl.
Or beating uga, ever.
Or winning the ACC.
Honestly, I'll deal with the up and down.
No you're right and most of us would too. 1992 is just being his usual retard self.
Too short. I played for him.Ross was a failure then, correct?
Who has the better FBS win percentage at GT, Chan or Johnson? Answer: Chan. Barely.
However, if you take away Johnson's first two years when he was playing with Chan's recruits and went 17-7, it's not even close. Which is to say, compare Johnson's FBS win percentage over the last 6 years with Gailey's 6 years at GT, and Chan wins by a mile.
This is a debate over which girl is the ugliest.
I hate passive defense more than anyone. IF our offense is working, an aggressive defense either stops them or gives up a quick TD. Either one helps us IF the offense is working. When it isn't we push a thin line out against Air Force and Utah.GT has had a lot of quick game thrown at them because of how Roof plays in the backend. This is a bit ridiculous. If the quick game was a such a solution for all, then WTF do schools have much better sack numbers? Thats partly because other defenses don't employ alignment and loose schemes to allow the quick game. There was a stat released this offeseason that GT's defense is in bend don't break mode 30-40% more than the college avg...I can't recall where that was posted...but it just shows you how loose we are.
how many times on 3 and 4 do we see our secondary line up 6-8 yards off the LOS. Its a joke. I watched us line up 8 yards off the ball on 1st and goal from the 5. How do you justify that?
We need a better DC IMO, or this current DC needs to reach out to outside folk or internal folks for a critical review of how he can get better.
Anyone remember when Alabama reached out to Ohio State to ask them how the buckeyes kicked their butt? It was kirby smart who did that. That is a sign of a learning coach wanting to improve.
Roof runs the same boring simple crap each year and you never hear about anything else....paying attention to down and distance? LOL
How could you know about something that never happened? He didn't get eight years to go 3-9.I'll gladly trade a lower winning percentage (even with "Chan's recruits") for an Orange Bowl win, an ACC title, and 2 wins vs the dwags. And the elephant in the room you're leaving out too is that CPJ did more with Chan's players than Chan could.

I'm not arguing that Chan was a great coach. This year is CPJ's year to prove his worth. I simply said his chair should be warm. Last year was a disaster in many ways.I was there, amigo. NCAA can go to hell.
And CPJ didn't injure half our freakin roster. If we win <7 games this year, I'll join you on the "fire CPJ" bandwagon, I'm not afraid to say that. But I get frustrated with this "sky is falling" attitude that is so pervasive in our fanbase. How bout getting behind the team and program and being optimistic about the 2016 (not saying this to you, but to our entire fanbase).

Art Briles.Shut up and name the coach you think we can get who will do a better job. I'll hang up and listen.
Art Briles.
Art Briles.
We've had 4 losing seasons in the last 6 vs. FBS opponents. You think that's acceptable? If "most of us do" as you say, then the fan base is in the category of retards--but I don't believe that what you say is true.
You asked for an available coach. Next year it might include Strong. Ask a stupid question and get answers. You are the one being an idiot. Did you properly lick all of Paul's toes this morning? Here's where we all laugh at you for having such stupid ööööing ideas.
