Official Game Day Thread - GT vs. Clemp Son's

IMO that's CPJ's biggest weakness. It's obvious when the other team has it figured out, and we really have nothing else to go to. No quick passing game, slants, screens etc. Just more of the same.
It is almost as if the NCAA limits practice time or something.

Agreed. The passing game was have is designed to function off of a successful run game. Our passing is ineffective when the run game is no threat. It's even worse when we lose the element of surprise with it.

Not sure what Marshall had or breakfast today but he doesn't need to have it ever again. They got him on tilt and he stayed there all game. PJ needs to recognize that and give someone else a try.

I have wondered why we don’t throw a few screens to the outside receiver throughout the game to keep the DBs honest. They usually give our receivers a 7-10yd cushion so they can watch the run game develop. Seems like a great opportunity to steal a chunk of yards. Eventually they’ll play tighter and then we can run the edge.

But screen passes never work.

Other teams manage to have multiple sets and offensive schemes. Are they playing by different rules than us? I don't think he has the capacity to manage and implement that.

I believe that PJ is a very disorganized person and doesn't really know how to manage. For example, he ALWAYS blows timeouts. Definitely not a "process" guy. Our teams just never seem sharp.

Quite the character asseessment.

We used to throw it quickly out to the WR a couple times per game when we had Baybay and Smelter. I wouldn't trust Marshall's arm on that anyway.

There is always lots of comments about how much the CPJ offense is complicated and needs lots of reps. Maybe CPJ thinks that spending time on the base O is a better spending time on a game plan for when nothing works.
