It's gonna have to be a G5 coach. I'm in favor of a change. But we aren't going to have a long list of great coaches that are going to be knocking the door down to coach at GT.
I think the selection committee (??) is going to have to resign itself that the next hire will use Tech as a stepping stone job. That isn't the end of the world, college football isn't the same as it was 15 or twenty years ago. There is a wealth of talent out there that doesn't necessarily aspire to coach at Georgia Tech (or anywhere) for ten or fifteen years. If you have talent, you are going to be sought after. If you can coach Troy to beat Nebraska, you are going to be a hot commodity. I'd rather have a talented younger guy that can recruit and bring in capable assistants, than a retread like Les Miles who is looking to do things the way they have always done them. If the guy elevates the program and gets hired away, so be it. Maybe one of his SUCCESSFUL assistants moves up to head coach.

Tech got it right when they hired CPJ. But he is getting old, and I dunno how much more he has in the tank.
His staff has always been poor. Name one assistant coach of CPJ at Tech that you would want to replace him at the end of this year. He is careful not to hire anyone that would have as much or more coaching ability than himself.

He doesn't hate Paul Johnson. He doesn't like losing football. He doesn't like 1-3 over the last four to the likes of Duke, Pittsburgh, and UNC. Forget about Miami, Clempsen and Georgia. He doesn't like not going to bowl games in an era where 80 freakin' teams go bowling. You need to wake up and smell the coffee.

I think it's quite clear from his posts that he hates Paul Johnson, as he is trying to diminish the best team we've had since 1990 and one of the best seasons in GT history. Making it like that season was luck and not because he coached and recruited a really good team. The guy is a ööööing douche bag, along with you.

And I don't like it either. I think it's time for a change.

We could have had Terry Bowden once upon a time.:heelclick::lol2:

You are correct, he cares about the program and wants the mess fixed.

Other than Ol' Foggy, I don't think any of us hates Paul Johnson, but most of us are emotionally invested in our Jackets. Maybe that's immature and silly, but it is real. And the 2014 did have some hiccups. Just like losing to Georgia in 2009. The coach has shown a penchant for showing up ill-prepared, even when he has a talented team. He's not terrible most years, but he has always been an "incomplete" coach, never having a competent defense, and infrequently having a good special teams.

Dude, STFU. You're an asshole. 2014 was the best team since 1990. We didn't "luck" into 11 wins and an Orange bowl win, like you're suggesting. Everyone knows you hate PJ but at least give credit where credit is due. No matter how many times you say "Puke" doesn't make the 9 win Duke team that beat us suck. UNC was also a bowl team that year and FSU made the ööööing playoff. Barely anyone goes undefeated these days. We were one of the best 5-7 teams in the country that season. And the reason those things "went our way" is because we had better players than almost every single team we played. Isn't it weird when we're not quite as talented, those interceptions don't happen, those kicks don't go through and certain passes aren't completed?

You're a douche.

Dude, öööö you. 2014 was nice but a fluke. No matter how you try to spin it, a home loss to Puke is embarrassing and ööööing sucks. I never said we lucked into 11 wins. I pretty goddamn clearly said we got breaks in 2014 we don't normally get. It wasn't our D talent that caused loser Southern to put the ball on the ground late in the 4th. It wasn't our talent that caused idiot Richt to squib kick the ball 30 yards, which gave us a short field for JT's run and Butker's kick...that needed every single foot of idiot Richt's stupid decision to not kick it deep.

öööö off and die, asshole. You're a ööööing moron.

Weren't you the guy that said we should've hired Rick Neuheisel instead of Paul , Johnson?
Yep, and I would have been good with Muschamp. Makes me a douchebag. But I didn't hire B**l Le***,or Chan or Bud. Paul Johnson was and still is a bad hire. But Georgia Tech, and many, many other programs have, and will continue to have sketchy results when hiring coaches. Michigan hired Rich Rod and that looked to be golden, but they must be douchebags. The douchebags at Tennessee hired Derek Dooley AND Butch Jones. The same douchebags that hired Steve Spurrier also hired Zook, Muschamp, and McElwain. Mike Shula coached Alabama. Just sayin'.

öööö you, you little bitch. A close home loss to a 9 win team is not embarrassing, no matter how you want to try and spin it. We lost 3 games, one to a 9 win team, one to another bowl team on the road and a 2 point loss to a team that made the ööööing playoff. No one said the 2014 season was perfect. If you haven't noticed, no one really goes undefeated in P5 anymore, you ööööing idiot. Southern fumbled because Jamal Golden MADE A ööööING PLAY! He knocked the ball down, you ööööing piece of öööö.

Once again, trying to diminish an incredible season, one of the best in school history.

I'd love to see a Jamal Golden or Shaq Mason beat your little bitch ass.

First of all, f$&@ you. You don’t get to diminish 2014. Good breaks? That offense was hell for other teams. The uga game was only close because of horrible officials. Down right one sided bullsh!t calls. You’ve got several seasons to point at for underachieving that will support you being miserable, but not 2014. So f$&@ off.

Our problem is talent. TALENT!!!! Right now, we’re not just unathletic, but we’re morons. Dumbasses running wrong routes, a defense that’s always out of position, and f$&@ing tards on special teams. Fire the coach, I don’t give a damn. Nothing is going to change until we change the culture of the school.

Eat öööö and die, asshole. No one is diminishing blessed, glorious 2014. But to deny the good breaks we got is ludicrous. Yeah we got a ööööty fumble call vs mutts (that I already mentioned, you goddamned idiot) but to deny that Richt's squib kick made Butker's heroics even possible just shows what a complete ööööing myopic moron you are.

2014 was a nice 3-loss season but many people in here disagree with you that it was about having-more-talent - many seem to think it was more about the genius of CPJ and his offensive scheme.

now go öööö off. Adults are talking here.

blah blah blah. 2014! Who gives AF. We suck now and any positivity from 2014 is long gone, thanks to ööööty recruiting and coaching.

No one goes undefeated anymore? Very few fanbases jerk off to 3-loss seasons 5 years later the way you do. Almost no one outside of our fanbase remembers 2014, since it's been followed up by mostly BS football ever since.

EABOD, loser.

Paul Johnson was a good hire. It's time for a change but that doesn't mean that PJ wasn't a good hire. Not a "home run" but definitely an extra base hit.

It's impossible for you and ramblinwreck92 to be objective.

Outside of Alabama and Clemson, which jobs AREN'T stepping stones to either the NFL or better college gigs? The "OMG no stepping stone coach!!" argument is a lame one.

I'm saying to fire the guy, you ööööing piece of öööö. I'm not jerking off to the season. You're the one that brought it up you ööööing asshole. But to dimish that season is ööööing ridiculous and proves your hatred for someone you don't know, which is sad. You have problems.

Actually, it's impossible for you Scheme Lovers to be objective.

I've never said CPJ was a bad hire so go öööö yourself.

no one is diminishing jack öööö, you ööööing moron. It was a nice 3-win season that had absolutely zero positive effects on us immediately thereafter. The guys he recruited that January and February are 1-2 right now.

The guy who has problems is the one who reacts so angrily to my opinion, you festering piece of dog öööö.

You need to jerk off again to the 2014 Orange Bowl and then calm the öööö down, loser.

READ MY ööööING POSTS YOU DUMBASS! I AM SAYING I WANT A CHANGE! DON'T WANT ANOTHER COACH THAT RUNS THE SAME SCHEME!

You are truly a ööööing piece of öööö. Don't put words in my mouth again you ööööing asshole.

And that post was directed at Yukonwreck. öööö you.

Read my lips: I do not give a flying öööö what you think and I'll put words wherever the hell I goddamn please. The ALL CAPS in your post was a nice touch. WTF are you - 12?

My response about Stepping Stone Coaches was literally a reply to Yukon so why the öööö are you quoting it???

OH wait - because you're a ööööing idiot, that's why.

After jerking off to the Orange Bowl for the 3rd time today, go öööö yourself.
