Kinda sick of seeing the disrespect to a coach who has given us one of the best eras in Tech football history.

I can understand the frustration - even a devout CPJ fan like myself sees that a coaching change is probably for the best at this point, but what I don’t understand is the vitriol for a man who has demonstrated a true love for this institution, its reputation, and has produced some incredibly exciting football moments over the past decade.

Many of you sound like a bunch of butthurt jerks. None of us like to lose - I guarantee you CPJ hates it more than any of us. You’re pretty daft if you think otherwise.

Although I am in your camp in terms of being a devout CPJ fan, I can understand where the vitriol comes from. The guy is often a blunt jerk, and he's getting that back in return now that things aren't going well.

This is no different than the end of the Bobby Cox era where Braves fans criticized every move and called for his head on a plate.

Bobby was in the same place: declining payroll because of the TV deal while the competition around him was signing new contracts that brought them the best players

That also disgusted me. It’s sport, people. It’s not like the guy killed your dog and slept with your wife. These things have an expiration date.

It’s ok to be an asshole when you’re winning. But once you stop winning, being an asshole is going to catch up to you real fast.

Johnson has done his best over the past decade to be as big of an asshole to anyone asking him a question as he can be. Those people will now have knives out.

But you understand it. Fans want a change, so they voice it on message boards and AJC comments. Then nothing happens. So they get louder. Then nothing happens. So they scream their heads off and make outrageous claims - it's just what people do when they feel they're not being heard.

So stupid. Our coach is salty, whaaaa.

Maybe the internet isn’t the best place to file a complaint if you want to “be heard” :dunno:

Grownups go to the people who make actual decisions about such things.

He’s more than salty. He’s an outright asshole. And his shtick wears real thin when he can’t back his words up with wins.

O’Leary was an asshole, too. I bet Bill Lewis was a nice guy, though.

And when he stopped winning, it caught up to him too.
Is there a losing coach who's schtick doesn't catch up with him.. would you be whining if he was a nice guy and we were still losing?
