How many minimum wins in remaining games to keep CPJ?

Anyone know what TStan's history is like in these types of scenarios? I feel like the average AD would give PJ atleast one more season regardless of outcome, under the reasoning that he bought himself one more season what with having a new DC in place.

He has no history with this type of scenario that I am aware of. O'Leary retired as Stansbury was on his way out at UCF. Was only at Oregon State for 2 years. I have no idea what the coaching situation was at East Tennessee State.

Stansbury hasn't ever fired or hired a football coach.

ETSU actually disbanded its football program the year after he left. [gulp]

At UCF, O'Leary was in place and well established when he was hired. O'Leary went 31-9 during Stansbury's tenure, then Stansbury left in the summer of 2015 and O'Leary opened the 2015 season going 0-8. O'Leary was actually interim A.D. for a while after Stansbury left, before retiring.

At Ore. St., Gary Andersen had been hired from Wisconsin (to replace Mike Riley who went to Nebraska) the summer before Stansbury took over as A.D. He was just there for 18-ish months, and left before Andersen was fired in 2017. However, it was rocky times for Ore. St. football, as Andersen went 6-18 during Stansbury's tenure.

This does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. He's never hired a football coach? Seriously? I like the "gulp" word you used. Fitting.
 
I guess CPJ needs to win 1 less than before tonight. He is here through next year, no matter what.
 
Miami is garbage. We are unfortunately garbage as well but if we stop ööööing fumbling we are hard to beat.
 
I support Stansbury so I'll go with what he says. Which is already made clear. That's not to be construed as me being particularly pleased with the last 4 seasons as a total body of work though. Tonight does not erase the self-destruction against Duke any more than Louisville erased the self-destruction against USF. Recruiting, consistency, special teams, defense, receiving, passing fundamentals, penalties, fumbles, offensive line play .... there's no shortage of recurring material to select from that could be leaps and bounds better. If PJ is to be replaced, given the grave risk of a "lost decade" for the program from such a drastic change in system, the replacement has GOT to be a slam dunk and has GOT to have multiple people with serious recruiting chops as part of the deal.

Ain't no such thing as a sure thing in CFB. The data points establishing that are overwhelming.
 
I think he only needs one more win to coach here next year. I know 5-7 means 3 of 4 losing seasons. But, I think Stansbury gives him one more year to get back to winning seasons and a bowl. It is a shame we are having this conversation. This team should be 6-2, maybe 7-1. Cover kickoffs in Game 2 and win that one and perhaps your confidence level and momentum gets the win over Pitt.
